Chons donated heavily to Queens Dems

From the NY Post:

Spa Castle CEO Steven Chon and several members of his family gave $31,300 to Queens Democratic Party Chairman Joe Crowley; $35,200 to Rep. Grace Meng; and $12,350 to Queens Borough President Melinda Katz since 2006, according to federal, state, and city campaign filings.

Crowley welcomed Chon as his guest to see South Korea’s then-President Park Geun-hye address Congress in 2013. The invite came six weeks after Chon and four relatives pooled $12,700 for Crowley’s campaign coffers, records show.

A rep for Crowley did not return messages.

How about that $4,500.00 for Paul Vallone?

Can a Republican/Not a Democrat ever get voted in Northeastern Queens anymore with this political monopoly that the Democrats have perpetuated? What happens when a populations sole existence is dependent upon the favors of a political machine? You get Northeastern Queens.

Then again, I might as well be talking about the rest of NYC.

The words Politician and Crook are now synonymous.

And this is the reason why we're are getting SOLD OUT in Queens.

Palm greasing, doing favors for $$$ and looking the other way is alive and well -
I'm sure these crooks will have help getting away with this by having our local democrats support them. Yet taxpayers get nothing for their money legally spent.

They all want to run the system! I bet you they gave to mayor dumbdumb too! All this so they can have their corrupt ways overlooked!

Avella may not take bribes but some other stupid shit he has recently done makes him just as bad !!
His attack on our 1st amendment rights with that bill to ban the public from talking bad about politicians (and make web-sight and blogs libel) took the cake. And WORSE and he has refused to answer or even attempt to clarify that crock of legal boiler plate.
So something's wrong with him also.

Queens is screwed good, I think that Paul Graziano guy is not to bad for a democrat. I haven't heard a bad word about him.
Hey, Anybody but this "buddy system" of soiled corrupt festering bucket of dirty diapers we have now !!

The best "happy ending" will be dumping Vallone and electing Graziano. Getting rid of Katz would be icing on the cake.

But it looks like the Dope from Park Slope will skate through his re-election since he was not indicted. (Yes, what a high bar we've set for our public servants.)

It has now come out that Massey, the Republican candidate, has a DWI in his past, so that might turn off some people who were thinking of voting against the Dope. Would Avella run as a third party candidate if he loses the primary to Dopey?

Yes. That was the former Reception House which he purchased with the parking lot on the next corner to turn into his commercial empire with Vallone's help to get a zoning change after Chon gave him a $2,500 campaign contribution. Paul Graziano helped shut the entire thing down - read here:

Steve Chon, a developer who donated $2,000 to Vallone in 2014 and $2,500 in 2015, met with Graziano and other civic leaders last year to discuss his plan to tear down the Reception House banquet hall in Auburndale and build at the space.

“His plans were to tear down Reception House, build a giant commercial building, have his offices for his entire real estate empire on the second floor, 15 storefronts, professional offices in the back, 70 parking spaces, and the parking lot across the street would be another two-story building for retail and a dental office for his daughter, with another 30 parking spaces,” Graziano said. “So I said to him, ‘sounds like a great plan.’ But your zoning is R2A” — which would not allow that.

According to Graziano, Chon had a fix to the problem in mind, saying that Vallone had told him that the commercial zone next to Reception House — which lies within the only single-family section of Northern Boulevard — could be expanded.

However, due to a Rickert-Finlay Covenant on the property allowing only single-family homes to be built, Chon could not go through with the plans anyway, according to Graziano.

Thanks for your support - and yes, I'm not in league with the Queens Machine Dems at all. I just want to continue helping my community as I have been for more than two decades, and I think I can bring it to the next level on the City Council.

Term limits are already in place for all New York City elected officials, who are allowed 2 terms of 4 years for each term.

I support term limits at the State and Federal levels as well.
