Strategists think de Blasio is beatable

The Daily News polled some strategists and they all think BdB can be beaten. See what they said...

The only danger of BDB winning is an uninformed ignorant voter base voting the party line. i.e. sheeple

Of course he is beatable. If he weren't beatable, none of those strategists would have jobs next election cycle.

Ivanka Trump for mayor!

Anonymous said...

Of course he is beatable. The question is there someone who will step forward and beat him!

Obama was beatable in 2012, but not by Romney.

GWBush was beatable in 2000 and 2004, but not by Gore and Kerry.

DuhBlaz would be out with the trash, but not until someone steps forward, either in the primary or general election, to beat him.

“Look at Donald Trump” is not an professional opinion. De Blasio won in a crowded field without name recognition because of a virtually unheard of anti-campaign conducted against Quinn. Unless the same thing happens against him, he'll probably win in a competitive primary as his challengers cancel each other out. Maybe he would fail to get the minimum 40% and face a tough run-off, but barring someone who can reach across the aisle on the Republican side with a at least a smidgen of charisma, (I'm looking at YOU, Don Peebles!), we're looking at a good shot of another de Blasio term. You heard it here first, folks!

Tony Avella for Mayor. Hope he runs.

The real- deal is that Hillary was to say the least, quite smittened that she lost the Presidential. As a matter of her ego saving face, she will run and knock Mayor Prozac out of the loop. I'm afraid to say there is no current Republican with as much muscle as a Dem Hillary, so we may get stuck eating more crap.

Anyone is beatable and this guy is a definite one term mayor.
Anyone is better than this guy. Once he got in the quality of life issues have increased. This threw the city backwards. Graffiti increasing and still around with no clean up. Pot smoking out in the open. Any street corner or parking lot you smell it and scary thing the ones parked in the parking lots drive off. His plan to use hotels as homeless shelters and having no real solution to the homeless situation. Dirty syringes lying around the street near the hotel. Creating a traffic nightmare on the Blvd of Death by putting the bike lanes around and taking up parking spots. Creating traffic congestion along Grand Avenue.
We still have a tale of two cities. Divided and his own administration plays the race card very well.
This progressive mayor needs to be shown the door and go back to Park Slope.

Anybody but him, I would vote even for a rock rather than him.

We will be stuck with him for another term because none of these potential challengers are talking about political lightning rods like: ending sanctuary city, getting rid of homeless hotels, ending overdevelopment, hard line negotiations with city employee unions, etc. These are the things that would directly improve the quality of life for most residents, but they're hard to say now that so many people have gotten used to the gravy train. Unless someone starts saying these things, I see BdB riding the gravy train to a 2nd term.

Let us see if Madame Secretary HiLlEry Diane Rodham Clinton's health is as great as stated throughout the campaign.

Will the devastation of loosing the one thing she wanted, with every bit of her being, her entire life take its further toll upon her health?

Forget not the many other things hanging over the Clintons, such as their foundation crumbling without income from pay to play, IRS investigations, Justice Department investigations, and most importantly the gift that keeps on giving, Anthony Weiner!!!

This is without a doubt the honest truth. Where can we find someone -- anyone -- who either the Repubs or Dems can tout as the next best thing to sliced bread?

Does anyone reading this blog have a scintilla of an idea? If you do, please put it forward even if it sounds ridiculous or impossible. Perhaps we will have a surprise election in New York City this next election as we did nationally.

Anything would be better than going through another cycle of the Dope from the Slope.

Sarc: You are just too, too, droll. Anthony Weiner -- the gift that keeps on giving. Indeed!

The only thing that will stop another disastrous term, continuing the economic divide and disenfranchisement of working poor and middle class people from their apts and devaluing their homes and benefiting the oligarchs laundering their money in new tower abodes, and the tourists and hipshits spending money like water on stupid shit , is for Preet Bharara to remain as AG to continue unraveling the massive web of corruption that Mayor Big Slow has blatantly conducted in city hall with his unelected young ward Rosen.

It might be naive to say in this era of overwhelming cynicism that has engulfed the government, nation and the world in general, but I think our corrupt and inherently evil mayor is going to get caught, cuffed, marched down on park row to the tombs by white street and centre, get indicted and the city dems are going to have to get creative and find some new talent or recognize the few honest ones left with experience. That would mean Letitia James will be mayor for the remainder of the year though, and be the unfortunate frontrunner.

Other than that, the republicans better find a candidate more concerned with civics, common sense and ethics than ideology and greed.

The democrats must step up and run against this nightmare or do not complain when a republican gets in! Dont cry or pout because you did not get your happy ending.
As for me I will not vote for this progressive mayor and once he is gone so is Melissa, Aja and Lincoln.....

You have to get out the white vote in order to beat him. Blacks will vote him in again because of his wife and kids. It's unfortunate but true,

Anonymous said...

Of course he is. If he hates the press then use the press against him.

how do we overcome this horrible DISHONEST media?
what about the illegal immigrants voting?
and all the slugs suckling on the government teat?
and all the money from the unions?

>De Blasio won in a crowded field without name recognition because of a virtually unheard of anti-campaign conducted against Quinn. Unless the same thing happens against him

Could you give more information on this? DeBlasio is as roundly disliked now as Quinn was 4 years ago - perhaps it can be repeated.

>The real- deal is that Hillary was to say the least, quite smittened that she lost the Presidential. As a matter of her ego saving face, she will run and knock Mayor Prozac out of the loop.

I didn't vote for her as President, but I'd vote for her as Mayor ahead of DeBlasio any day.

>Pot smoking out in the open

How is this a bad thing? It's about time the cops stopped worrying about harmless marijuana. Full decriminalization and legalization are only a matter of time. And you're not allowed to smoke indoors thanks to other restrictive laws that aren't likely to change anytime soon.

Quinn was the front-runner for quite a while. She had a lot of support from females and gays naturally, and despite her corruption scandals, she actually had a dime's worth of sense about how the city is managed compared to everyone else except Thompson, probably because of her close relationship with Bloomberg. She knew how to whip other Council members into line. With the exception of a temporary surge from Weiner, she was a strong leader in the polls for months. Things went sour for her because she had royally pissed off the animal rights interests by blocking legislation around the horse drawn carriages, pet shop safety requirements, and a few other issues. A few of them in NYCLASS had some big money, and created the Anybody But Quinn campaign. They played it very smartly though, focusing minimally on their own issues which they knew would never interest the voting majority and hit her from every angle possible on her whole record. They never officially endorsed de Blasio. He did not deliver on their major demands, but he was also careful not to come out directly against them either. If nothing similar happens this term, I predict de Blasio would likely take the primary on name recognition, and the whole race if the Republicans put up another rich person perceived to be out of touch like Catsimitides, or another sane but entrenched official with less personality than cardboard like Joe Lhota.

Anthony Weiner already has his hands full...

Anonymous said...

Thank you for that answer, Anonymous. I never realized that animal rights groups were such a terrible influence on our city. I guess given the behavior of PETA and ELF I shouldn't be surprised.

Good thing they didn't get their way, even with their pet mayor in office.

Let's hope some interest groups with better issues gets together to form Anyone but DeBlasio.

The hipster pipeline continues to supply our urban NYC landscape with horribly uninformed, emotional, narcissistic fauxgressives to shape our city's future.

So long as REBNY has this malleable electorate to court, we're done. The politicians rarely even visit the civic groups and union halls anymore. You've got a better shot at seeing a pol at a desnuda rally than a civic meeting.

This gawky doofus has beat the shit out of NYC.
Now, let's beat his ass out of Gracie Mansion at the polls.
NYC has sunk low enough without a mentally ill liberal giving away the store.
