Stavisky ballot signatures deemed valid

Times Ledger
From the Times Ledger:

A hearing at the Manhattan office of the city Board of Elections Tuesday found objections to state Sen. Toby Stavisky’s (D-Flushing) campaign petitions to be insufficient to knock the incumbent off the ballot for the upcoming election.

The challenges raised by her Democratic opponent, S.J. Jung, and other residents within the district, claimed the signatures to qualify her for re-election were illegible or had addresses outside of the district, leaving only 13 out of 3,519 valid. Commissioners from the BOE, however, determined there were 2,243 valid signatures, which met the minimum of 1,000 required for Stavisky to make it on the ballot.

So she submitted 1,276 bogus signatures, and that's okay?

C'mon! does anyone really believe that a Board of Election, controlled by the Dem party, would knock one its own candidate off the ballot?

Using the president's Chicago tactics, some feel that the ends justify the means.

From CNN:

In his first race for office, seeking a state Senate seat on Chicago's gritty South Side in 1996, Obama effectively used election rules to eliminate his Democratic competition.

As a community organizer, he (Obama) had helped register thousands of voters. But when it came time to run for office, he employed Chicago rules to invalidate the voting petition signatures of three of his opponents.

The move denied each of them, including incumbent Alice Palmer, a longtime Chicago activist, a place on the ballot. It cleared the way for Obama to run unopposed on the Democratic ticket in a heavily Democrat district.

"That was Chicago politics," said John Kass, a veteran Chicago Tribune columnist. "Knock out your opposition, challenge their petitions, destroy your enemy, right? It is how Barack Obama destroyed his enemies back in 1996 that conflicts with his message today. He may have gotten his start registering thousands of voters. But in that first race, he made sure voters had just one choice."

Has anyone ever heard this story of how our current president came to power in politics?

Can we check to see how many of the signatures came from our local cemeteries???

It is not unethical or illegal to submit signatures of democrats outside the district especially since the petition was for other candidates who might carry part of their district outside of another candidates.

As we saw with HRC, depends on whether there was any intent.

Signatures can be invalid for a number of reasons. Getting enough is just a matter of man hours and connections. You always get 2 - 3 times more than you need to deal with challenges like this. Good effort, but a connected person like Stavisky has enough to get this done. SJ Jung is just gonna have to do beat her at the ballot box.

Now what the loser should do is make the signatures public - people would have a field day.

Really? So how does one setup MX records/forwarders for a .GOV?

Intent = Coverup by the same cronies form the same party.

With the invasion of Chinese taking over all of Queens, shouldn't be a problem for Jung to win. It's not like the Chinese or their illegal invaders play fair either.

If my dog had a face and temperament like her I'd put it down and burn the remains then mix it in wet cement and bury it at sea weighted down with lead
And hope it never comes back.

No body cares about the signatures. that's the bottom line

That old fart manipulated the count. They want to keep their family business going.
Politics has been their dynastic trade since the mid 1960s.
Calling the FBI! Investigate that whale of a crook.
Uh....the North Flushing Senior Center....a Stavisky money laundry....should be scoped good!

I'm not sure who to side with here. On the one hand, NY petition laws are notoriously contrived and unfair. On the other hand, I don't trust Stavisky to be honest about anything, especially this.

Yeah...but who's the guy in the photo???

Jung is Korean, not Chinese.

Stavisky has a very gorgeous staff member named Scarlette Cho, I believe she is dating Assemblyman Ron Kim, I saw them at an event, all red faced and cozying up to each other. These flushing politicians are all connected, and collude with each other to screw us over.
