I own a plot there, my grandparents are buried there. This is the nastiest cemetery I have ever seen, and the staff is clueless and a bunch of morons.
They claimed that the grave was in bad shape because perpetual care ends after 15 years, perpetual means forever. Also they told me they only have one shift of maintenance staff twice a week. This is why the place is so disgusting. Even the gate on the BQE is bent and broken.
As someone who is to be studying the funeral business, it is NEVER a good idea to pay for plots and such upfront on areas that still are in development. It's usually a way for the business to make money, taking advantage of the elderly. Read "The American Way of Death" by Jessica Mitford. A real eye opener.
And yes, the typo should be evident enough to avoid at all costs.
Wasn't this the church that recycled childrens graves and brought a new layer of 'dirt' - and the grave markers look very similar to the stuff seen in Socrates Park along Vernon.
Kind of explains why they have Constantinople and Vallone as their PR firm.
I know from a former employee that St. Michael's is very poorly run - resistant to computerization, office staff that's been around for decades, no modernization. They're all about monetizing every inch of property they can. Nice people, just clueless in the modern world.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods. The typo makes me think it is a scam to get the elderly to answer and to relieve them of their money. I hope the newspaper vetted it.

What's this about a cemetery? I'm not seeing anything on the QNS page this links to.
Id rather be excremented and dumped in the east river then be buried in future Queens.
