F'ed up on Fitchett

They want to build a McMansion here but the plans were rejected.

And then there's what's directly across the street...

The plans were revoked and it's been sitting in this condition for 2 years.
The neighbors must love it.

65 AVENUE 85-24 - 85-24 Health Area : 1930 Tax Block : 3137
FITCHETT STREET 65-02 - 65-02

QUESTION: Why is it that DYR-EX General Contractors stills holds an active license with the DOB.

QUESTION: Shouldn't there license have been revoked. Clearly, if they do not build according to the NYC Building Code their license should be revoked.

Date Registered: 10/27/2009 Contractor ID: 600393
Status: A - ACTIVE Expiration: 10/27/2018
City Employee: No
Office Address: 85-20 67TH ROAD REGO PARK, NY 11374
Business Phone: 718-565-8395

LONG OVERDUE CHANGES MUST BE MADE. ACCOUNTABILITY on the part of many is ESSENTIAL.

FIRST AND FOREMOST the time that the DOB takes to respond to all complaints needs to be DRAMATICALLY IMPROVED. In actuality, the 40-day response time has gone DRASTICALLY beyond the 40 days.

ARCHITECTS; OWNERS, GENERAL CONTRACTORS and DOB INSPECTORS MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

ROGUE architects must be reported to the NYS Professional Board. That process needs also to be revised. NYS needs to accept reports of wrongdoing and investigate them fully.

THE DOB MUST PHYSICALLY OVERSEE THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT FROM START TO FINISH. THAT MEANS THAT AN INSPECTOR MUST BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE CONSTRUCTION SITE UNANNOUNCED and be GRANTED ACCESS TO DO A WALK THROUGH.

The owner should be required to grant access to a DOB Inspector immediately upon REQUEST. If access is not granted, PERMITS, if any, should be pulled. If the construction site is active and the construction gate is locked (a common occurrence) for the purposes of keeping officials out, then a FULL STOP WORK ORDER should be issued.

The neighbors, like all of us before them, don't count. That is: even though we pay taxes and our lives are severely impacted by these illegal and unsafe construction projects. To say that we are fed up is an understatement. WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH.

The architects, first and foremost, MUST BE held accountable. Until that happens NOTHING will change.

ARCHITECTS, are NYS LICENSED PROFESSIONALS, who MUST BE held accountable. The NYC DOB must institute as part of the building code a rule that REQUIRES architects to make physical visits intermittently
(on a regular basis) to construction sites that they have professionally submitted plans for. They in turn must submit a report to the DOB which becomes part of the DOB FOLDER.

The practice os building contrary to plans and being allowed to legalize the plans after the fact needs to be HALTED.

Any whereabouts of the Fire Ninja?

All I see when I go on this site are rogue anarchist developers and architects. The DOB is a living farce. There was an investigator being interviewed on PIX news the other day about a property in Jamaica owned by a church that has been surrounded by hideous scaffolding that encapsulated a house right next to it. When Arnold Diaz informed the useless tool from the DOB about it, I never seen anyone so tight-lipped he almost looked like he was holding in a dump that would have reversed course and come out of all of his orifices in his head.

It leaves me no hope for any future living in this city, especially in this borough. Or for anyone else that can afford the means to.

Fucking grave.

Whats wrong with you people. Don't play mayor. You get nowhere playing with some nitwit in DOT or any other agency.

Take a page from the playbook of a developer. They go straight to the lord of the manor. Your councilman.

For example, if I were a developer, I would make a donation to a councilman, lets say, a Vallone just as an example. I would wager all sorts of city agencies would bend over backwards to work with you.

So the solution is very easy here.

Go after your councilman.

Write letters in the weekly rags, ask questions at community board meetings (and follow up at the next one on why these issues are not in their the minutes or they are doing nothing to your pointed question), and by all means attend events and ask them tough questions about lack of concern and lack of follow through.

Most of them are not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so show up with a weary sense of humor, but, by all means, at their expense.

That's how its done sonny.

This is a prettier version of my neighborhood on the Elmhurst-Woodside border. We haveconstruction fences that stand for years around uncompleted buildings or vacant overgrown lots. Graffiti "decorates" these "temporary" fences, and there is dumping and litter galore.

Even the fence is not to code ... green construction fence is required. As for the neighborhood with graffiti-covered fences, call 311 and file complaints.

WANTED: NINJA ARSONISTS, IMMEDIATELY.

Hey JQ LLC, you have a video of the Arnold Diaz story on that Jamaica shithole church?

Where is your councilman in all of this? You elected him now PUT HIM TO WORK! He must answer to his constituents (you) and deal with their problems having to do with the city agencies (him). If he doesn't help you, tell everyone so that he doesn't get re-elected.

@ OGCLE

Those decorations are called "street art"

It's a good way to attract the hipshit demographic and drive up the rental market rate. They love the vicarious feel of living in a gritty slum.

JQ LLC: The only hipshits I ever see around here are the idiots who line up outside Ayada every night, smoking their American Spirits and probably posting online about how cool and brave they are to venture out of Brooklyn and Manhattan. As for the graffiti: we get the same tags over and over- "51st Street----" or something like that. One of the neigjbors told me that they are gang tags. Definitely no Basquiats around these parts. We are so fucked. Help.

I work right there, and I have to say it is an eyesore, as for the house across the street, thought it is sinfully ugly, your picture is outdated, it is close to being done. Weird how one Bukharian palace can be completed and the other denied.

FYI 65-02 Fitcheet St. Contractor info should read as FRESH POWER CORP 63-XX 71 St. Middle Village Telephone 347 781 7281. I guess the contractor does not like to be known for his work.
