NYC is lobbyist nirvana

From the NY Post:

Pay-to-play is the order of the day at Bill de Blasio’s City Hall. And the mayor’s lobbyist buddies are cashing in — big time.

The Wall Street Journal reports that overall lobbying receipts in New York have jumped 15 percent since de Blasio took office, to an all-time high of $71.9 million.

Indeed, the ease with which lobbyists access the mayor is so notorious that the top 10 firms’ client list has grown by more than 40 percent since de Blasio took office.

Let’s face it: Under the mayor who vowed to drive the special interests from power, lobbyists have not only taken up residence at City Hall, they’re running the place.

That’s especially true for three of de Blasio’s closest lobbyist pals — James Capalino, Harold Ickes and Sid Davidoff — and his PR buddy, Jonathan Rosen.

Whoever voted for dumblasio should be shot! This mayor is the most useless I've ever seen! I'm so glad that I can say that I did not vote for this guy. So I am not one of the causes for dumblasio being mayor!

My local councilman-lobbyist is Paul Vallone.
Vallone is not at home when his district needs him.
He's always too busy with his real estate clients.
I urge every district resident to be wary of this two faced self serving double dealer.

It is not just him - he did not invent this form of government, but is not that bright to hide it.

The problem is this is government, particularly NYS government, from top to bottom.

The old school one generation removed from European peasantry did nothing about it, and the hipshit foodies think government is beneath them.

When that changes, government changes. We get the government that we fight for (or don't fight against) and deserve.
