There are no banks that accept the ID as primary identification in Flushing, a heavily Asian-immigrant neighborhood. In Jackson Heights, Corona and Elmhurst, one of the most diverse sections of Queens, there are only three banks that take the card as a primary identification document. Banks categorize some identification documents as "primary"—usually driver's licenses, state IDs, passports, and foreign-issued IDs—and others, such as credit cards and leases, as "secondary."
And you can't buy a beer with one, either.

Good....they should not be used as a form of Id anywhere. A lot of illegals don't even have proper identification from their own countries so how do we really know that they are who they say they are? Catering to illegals is such crap anyway. You are not an American especially not a new yorker just because you have one of these stupid cards! Most of them don't even pay taxes so basically this is just more tax payer dollars being wasted on people who do not or will never belong here to begin with!

According to today's NY Times, there have been 670,000 such ID's issued since January!
Just add it to the list of useless City programs.
Not acceptable at an airport either.

I have a card to get into museums and zoos for free, I am not undocumented. I do agree, that undocumented do not pay taxes and should not be allowed the same rights, other than human rights, of Americans. Irish undocumented count.
As a lifelong citizen & NYC resident, why can't I just use my valid driver's license to get the freebies? Why must I take off from work to get this bogus ID card?
One wonders why the Comrade In Charge,NYC is speeding up the P.O.T.U.S.'S executive order to AMNESTY(,Now in the Fed. courts) ,with a $7million taxpayer giveaway to ACTION NYC.It will enable Refugees/Illegal aliens to utlize NYC libraries to gain LEGAL COUNSEL & immigration info.Especially the BELL BLVD ,BAYSDE BRANCH. Will all libraries in NYC become IMMIGRATION CENTERS soon?
A national election 11/2016 & the DEMS. are prepping for a foreign vote to keep them in control of your taxes forever ,especially NYC/NYS. While dissatisfied former dem voters attempt to clean the "QUISLINGS" out.
I'm going to get one and use it for the one year of free benefits.

As a longtime non Asian resident of Flushing , my wife tried to deposit $1,000 in cash into her Chase account. She had to show full ID.
She's been banking with Chase at that branch for 28 years. I tried opening a new CD account , after my old one had matured at Flushing Bank, where I was a customer for 35 years , and was told to produce full ID. The old CD was held by Flushing Bank where the new one would have been issued. I assured them that I was not a member of ISIS or laundering any money. At 74 years of age my activity is quite limited.
