It's a great tour, but the first half of it is all in Ozone Park (SOA--South of Atlantic).
Much of Ozone Park, south of Atlantic, used to be part of Woodhaven.
I always thought that part of ozone was woodhaven. It doesn't venture further than crossbay blvd, which is right at the border. Great feature. I wonder if our boro prez has seen the expansiveness of forest park and how it sorely needs more than a path to the bandshell.
I don't know if Forgotten covered Ozone Park yet, but it will probably cover lindenwood too and that dilapidated section by linden and conduit where the mob buried tons of bodies. Cyndi Lauper was from Ozone Park.
The most revealing thing about Woodhaven is that it hasn't been infected by the tumors of gentrification, the cafe barsteraunts, bland glass complexes, and the skinny styleless frivolous geeks. But it's still a bit too far away even with transit in decent spots. Too far south and east.
But that all depends on the foreboding development by East New York, which is only a few miles away.
I wouldn't know when they started calling Ozone Park Ozone Park...my family's history in Ozone Park starts at a foreclosure sale in the great depression when it was already called Ozone Park...my mother's family all moved in from Brooklyn...there were chickens in back yards and fresh eggs...
