NYPD cop charged with stealing house

From NBC:

A 45-year-old NYPD officer has been indicted on multiple felony counts, including grand larceny, for allegedly forging a deed to a home in Brooklyn and stealing the property from the rightful owner.

Blanche O'Neal, 45, assigned to the 83rd precinct, allegedly submitted a deed in July 2012 indicating she had bought a property on Vernon Avenue for $10,000. The deed said she purchased the property from Colie Gallman, Jr., the sole heir of Lillian Hudson, who had owned the property before she died.

About three years later, O'Neal called authorities to report someone had transferred her property to a corporate entity without her permission and alleged she was the victim of deed fraud. O'Neal told detectives she had won a $5,000,000 lawsuits against the estate and was awarded the home as part of a settlement from the person she claimed was the sole heir, Colie Gallman.

As part of their investigation into O'Neal's allegation, detectives began looking into the deed transfers on the property going back to the ownership of Lillian Hudson. They determined the deed filed by O'Neal was fraudulent, according to prosecutors.

There must be a lot more to this story!

I bet it would make for some great reality TV...

This reminds me of that older lady who had her house stolen by a fake deed in Laurelton Queens. These people think there going to get away with it. And no less a police officer, should get 10 years just for being one and other 10 years for trying to steal the house.

Why should a cop get more time than anyone else? I never understood that logic. They're no better than anyone else. Besides if she is convicted she'll lose her job. So she will get punished twice. I'm certainly not defending the cop, I just don't see why she should get more time than anyone else just because of what she does. And don't give me that "held to a higher standard" garbage. This day and age, there aren't any more standards.

"And don't give me that "held to a higher standard" garbage." - Not garbage, teachers, clergy, law enforcement, elected officials et al - all are or should be held to higher standards than your regular dirt bags.

"This day and age, there aren't any more standards." There should be.

Cops are supposed to set an example. They deserve three times the punishment of a criminal civilian.
But I guess you, as a cop sucker, do not think's that is justice. Well, FU in spades!

Cops should be held to a higher standard. They are the ones we call with issues like someone is trying to steal my house. They are fast to tell you that it is a legal issue and take them to court and there is nothing they can do. So yeah they should get more time for doing crimes because they should no the laws better than the average person.
