"Hello there. I wrote to you some time ago about the parking of many cars with expired out of state (Illinois) license plates on the streets of Auburndale. Well they are still here, taking up space, still with expired Illinois plates, likely uninsured, as you can see in the pictures. But newer to the area is this covered push cart. It's parked on 35th Ave, by 172nd street, the address is 172-06 35th Ave. It's a push cart, not a vehicle with license plates. I'm not sure what function it serves to whoever it belongs to. But it doesn't belong on a public street. Why is it allowed to be stored there? Sometimes it's chained to the stop sign, other times it's not. Directly across the street on 35th Ave is a very busy public school, this is a high traffic area at drop off and pick up times. 311 has been called, the response is nothing was found. 311 has become a terrible joke which cost the taxpayers bundles of money to operate. Or is it the local police precinct? Likely both.
Thanks Queens Crap!" - anonymous

Call your councilman and write to their appointed community board.

Calling 311 really should be labeled "Dial-an-Ignoramus". Conversations with anyone answering a 311 call usually consist of "Uh", "Duh", "Really?", "Here is the number for you to call", etc. They never know anything about anything and have to look it up. They talk like they're on a major depressant drug which numbs all the important brain centers.
I try very hard never to call 311, as it's an exercise in frustration.
"They never know anything about anything and have to look it up."
311 is a scripted database; everything is looked up, so that all reps provide the same information.
Is that some kind of new "smart cart" transportation vehicle?
Maybe we need some pushcart lanes to augment those bike lanes. LIL!
I'm almost positive the pushcart belong to the second house on the west side of 172 Street - it's a family of bottle/can collectors. You can see from the street that there's a shitheap of crappy sheds and tarps in the backyard, and on Bing birds eye view maps you can see that the back yard is a hot mess. Their shrubs are overgrown as well and take up half the sidewalk. One of these days I'm going to drive by and be tempted to rip them right out. That bike cart mess thing is on that corner every day.
WOW
The beauty of "diversity".
I'm not even sure that with a vending license, it would be allowed to be parked overnight on a public street.
Without anything on it, it looks like abandoned property to me.
What's wrong with parking a pushcart on the street, anyway?
Today it was chained to the stop sign on the s/e corner of the intersection of 172 and Crocheron.
Public streets cannot be used as private storage without permits. Construction debris bin and sheds require permits. Cars and trucks require license plates.
Empty your toilet on it if you can't cut the chain.
That'll solve the problem quicker than 311.
It has been on the corner for a couple of months already!
