Fireworks coming back to East River

From LIC Talk:

The Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks extravaganza is finally returning to Long Island City this summer after a seven year hiatus. Four barges will be placed on the East River between 23rd and 37th Streets, so there will be no better viewing location than our own waterfront parks, balconies, terraces, and rooftops. For LIC, this will be where Mardi Gras meets New Years Eve in Times Square and the Superbowl of Christmases.

What? It was in the East River in 2014. This year it was supposed to go back to the Hudson and alternate each year.

The announcement included "thrilled" three times and "proud" twice which made me "disgusted" with the political class loss of language skills once.

I really like how, on Independence Day, the tickets for Gantry Park are handed out in the lobbies of the towers once again excluding the locals from their own neighborhood.

Its so symbolic celebrating the 4ht with the towers blanking the view. I am certain that Jimmy Van Bramer will be 'proud' of that, and 'thrilled' for taking credit on a deal that someone else brokered.

They won't stop until there's a 20 story curtain of luxury housing from Little Neck to Greenpoint, excluding LGA, obscuring the view.
