Mets fans don't like de Blasio

From the Daily News:

Mayor de Blasio was met by a chorus of boos by Mets fans at the team’s home opener Monday.

Jeers broke out as soon as the mayor, who is open about his allegiance to the Boston Red Sox, was announced during pre-game festivities at Citi Field.

“Stop inviting him!” one fan yelled from the crowd.

The mayor donned a Mets cap and jersey with “DE BLASIO” on the back, with a No. 6 on it in honor of 1960s-era Red Sox player Rico Petrocelli.

The "mook factor" that typifies stereotypes of Queens was in full effect.

Not good.

Citi Field needs to be decontaminated.

He WAS early, though most fans had wished he wasn't there at all. Also he left right after the first pitch.

Honoring a player from another team in another league, pretty tone deaf. Equally tone deaf is the stupid Wilpons who made a jersey for him, no doubt thanks for his recent pow wow with the financial pimps and players and the morbidly obese wealthy of NYC

Those people aren't mooks, they're just awake.

Jerry Grote was a better catcher anyway.

Also John Stearns, and he stole bases.

Here's a song about other catchers better than Big Pussy's Rico,(at 1:43)>>>

Nobody does. He got in because of Quinn.
Nobody wanted a mean, shrill, angry dyke for mayor.

I voted against Christine Quinn, not for De Blasio.

The real estate industry loves Bill. That's where he got his campaign $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ from!

It doesn't matter who sits in Gracie Mansion. REBNY runs New York City, unless voters research who they are going to elect. Most voter dopes investigate the qualities of their next smart phone before they make a purchase. That's not so smart. Take the political clubhouses word for the right candidate to elect (buy). And Queens voters seem to be among the dumbest in the city. I guess living in a backwater borough contributes to their ignorance.

Everything he touches screams FRAUD.

JQ - Jerry Grote was a great catcher. However, Rico Petrocelli was a shortstop. However, that's one more example of DeBlasio's cluelessness and toneless attitude towards the electorate. He managed to offend both Mets and Yankee fans at the same time.

All Apologies Gary, I thought he was a backup catcher to Fisk, I could've sworn he was a catcher according to my 1977 baseball cards. So I like to retract my last statement and say Bud Harrelson was better.

And kudos for confirming how tone deaf he is

Rico Petrocelli is from Bushwick, my grandmother would babysit him along with my father. (Kosciusko street then Dekalb & Myrtle)I met him several times as a kid at these big Italian yard dinners. We had fig trees and grape vines.
It was a great time till president Johnson and mayor Lindsay ruined everything with a tsunami of new civil rights laws and garbage immigration.
