Its a sad issue for MPB. The monsignor is only interested in MONEY$$... What better way to fill his pockets then rent the school to the Board of Ed. and have free income. Very sad the church no longer cares about its children. And then they expect us to come and give. NOT ! St Joes here we come.

People should take a look at the deal Transfiguration church in corona is trying to pull off. They have used shady dealings, not disclose how much they need to spend too fix bidding to either the church community for a proper vote not to the greek archdiocese. Someone should investigate, especially their chief negotiator for the church. And they used the vallone lobbying firm.

Now if you encircle the entire building with these supports it would look quite artistic.

Actually the problem is that most of the children do not attend the church.

I knew the Catholic Church was in plenty of trouble with its priest-pedophiles, but this is ridiculous!

From what I have seen over the last decade or two is that the parents no longer care about the church. I'm not saying all of them, but take a look at attendance at masses. Then look around to see how few drop a buck or two in the collection. The little old ladies are dying off and can't support the church anymore folks. It's your turn now, either make your donations or don't complain when more schools and churches close.

You want to see problems?-- the Episcopal Church is about ready to sell every last empty church (which is most of them) to real estate developers. Look at recent sales in Brooklyn and Lynbrook.

St Joes here we come.

St Joe is cutting back on youth programs too. Look at Brigade.

The Church needs to change with the times.

Streamline, privatize, sell off any property not being actively used.

They are like any other large company in NY. It is their own fault they are failing.

They should take that developer up on his offer.

Maybe convert it to a mosque?

The Catholic Church is in a state of decline except in the third world.
