The cost of snow

From PIX11:

A new study says the cost of removing snow in New York City is about $1.8 million per inch.

City Comptroller Scott Stringer report Wednesday that analyzed more than 10 years of snowstorms.

It does not include the storm that hit the city earlier this week.

The most expensive years for removing snow were winters — like fiscal year 2011 and 2014 — in which the city received the most snow.

Well if DSNY didn't have their men sitting in trucks for 12 hours waiting for it to snow, perhaps the city would save $hundreds of thousands. The prep time needs to be reviewed.

Why should we worry about the costs of snow removal. We are just awashed with all the money our film industry saviors bring in.Don't forget the other billion saviors that flock to NYC and our diverse boroughs from the world over.

just think of all the real blizzards we had the past 50 years when we didn't have all these nice things.
