Fish going belly-up at Willow Lake

From the Daily News:

Dozens of fish are turning up dead in a Queens lake — and no one is sure why.

Carp have been seen floating on the shores of Willow Lake, a part of Flushing Meadows Corona Park that the city is turning into a wild preserve.

More than a dozen dead fish were seen floating or washed up on shore during a visit to the lake on Friday.

A large number were spotted on the western edge near the walking bridge. More washed up by the bird blind on the eastern side of the lake.

The city has been transforming Willow Lake in Flushing Meadows Corona Park into a wildlife preserve with hiking trails. But in recent weeks scores of dead fish have been spotted floating along the lake's edge. No one is sure why but some speculate herbicides might be the cause.

But there were signs of life near the dead fish and tires floating in the water. Other fish were seen jumping in the air.

The only breathing form of life that can actually survive living in flushing anymore is the Asians and illegals. Flushing is a wasteland run by third worlders.

"Other fish were seen jumping in the air."

Yeah, trying to escape the toxins of Willow Lake.

People use the lakes as a urinal. Developers release chemicals into the river that runs into Willow lake. Mosquito Pesticides eventually run off into the lakes around there. A lot going on in FMCP yet nobody is doing anything to stop it and protect our parkland.

Several years ago after playing pitch-n-putt golf at FMCP I was walked across a small bridge to the parking lot. I looked down and on the shore was a very large turtle furiously making it's way to the water as it was being attacked by six huge rats. It reached it's goal and submerged itself but the rats followed swimming around looking for their prey. Eventually the rats gave up and returned to the shore.
I wonder how much wildlife is pursued, captured and devoured by the disgusting rodents?

It's the Flooshing scourge. Humans can barely subsist in this cesspool of overcrowded squalor, let alone fish.

My guess is that its getting cold or something weather related.

No mention of water testing.

I assumed that Claire Shulman dipped her toes in the lake.

So what did they do? Introduce fish to the lake? And they're surprised that fish can't live in PCPs and Oil?

The lake is probably a superfund site, though so far as I know the water has never been tested. They won't test it because of the embarrassing headline it'll result in: Queens park is superfund site".

It's between 2 highways and down the creek from Iron Triangle and all the asphalt plants up there... That anything lived long enough to get to the lake and die is surprising.

Don't worry the government is working hard to bring illegals to a hotel near you.

They need to stock that lake with Queens Carp!

100's of vagrants living in the park, under the expressway and in the brush use that lake as a toilet. If you bike ride over the bridge up to the boathouse it all reeks of septic. I saw foam and "brown bubbles" at the waters edge last July
