Stickup at the Queens Zoo

From A Walk in the Park:

The workers should have released the lions who would have stopped the robbers and then some.....

The zoo is mainly for children. No lions.

another screwup up in f*cked up queens.

the only 2 things that work around here are giving politicians money to do what there were elected to do (campaign donations in polite society) and having their friends the developers steal our communities and empty our pocket books to make them rich (so they can pay their daughters Amex bill as they whore it up on college break).

Sounds like an inside job - it seems the money the politicians lavish on cultural groups in Queens is inverse to how well they are run.

No lions? Then release the Bengal tigers!

"The assailant is described as a 30-year-old male Hispanic"

So, a local boy then.

What's the use of having cameras if they don't work. Seems like nothing works in Queens.

What's the use of having fill-in-the-blank?

Someone is paid to do the study.

Someone is paid to do the site survey.

Someone is paid to work up a request for bid

Someone is paid to review the bid...

And so on.... This is the city we are talking about - no one cares if anything ultimately works. (Check out the lighting at the BQE/GCP merge)

There's nothing quite like a description that fits 250,000 people walking around Queens right now.

Who the hell else would it be???

A couple kids from Forest Hills once told me it's all happening at the zoo, and now I do believe it, I do believe it's true.

Simon and Garfunkel never hung out at the zoo. They were in the school yard hanging with Julio.

I just posted this in the article regarding cameras in subway cars....

Every time I hear of crime in a housing development I hear people (daily news especially) complain about the lack of 'security' cameras. All the do is record a crime if that camera is pointing the right way and the lighting is correct. Criminals don't wear jerseys with their name on it. Cameras do nothing to prevent crime. Won't work in the projects and it won't work on the subway (or a zoo)
If it did work it would just show a fuzzy image of what might be a Hispanic (which I never understood considering white people and black people can be Hispanic, or is that Latino? But French Canadians are technically Latino. What about South Americans? A large % of them are whiter than Europeans. Speaking of Europeans what are people from actual Spain called? Spaniards? How come general white people aren't just called English?
Anyway cameras don't do a damn thing.

Must have been an inside job.

Inside job? Who planned it, the snowy owl? The Chacoan peccaries? I'll take "unemployed immigrant drifter" for $1000, Alex.
