A lot of money went to crap. None of it was allocated for the purchase of the Brinckerhoff Cemetery, which has a paltry asking price of $150,000. And now the owner is threatening to ask for a hardship in order to get the Landmarks Commission's decision overturned.
Way to go, Melinda Katz & Rory Lancman!

Seriously this is horrible, this is landmarked and a part of our history as a borough and a land. It is sad that any remnants which is few of Queens' history is always on the bottom of the list. Nothing is held as important. I've been to other cities and they have a strong sense of identity and community. But in Queens'/NYC it is easy to just wipe it out!
Look at the Steinway mansion.
The property will be cleared within a decade thanks to UCCA and the local electeds who, instead of focusing on something for the community, did fund raising for Joe.
Forgot or put the money into a slush fund?
150,000? That money needs to be spent on services for all the illegals here in queens.
Forgot???
More like don't care.

Any updates on the African Burial ground in Corona?
Requests to preserve a cemetary in Old Astoria was rejected by the LPC and ignored by Vallone.
In Queens you can scream and no one will hear you.
Rory only cared about this cemetery when he was running for office. Such a poser.
The money is better used to fund services for the scabies and plague ridden "children" from Central america President Barry is disbursing around the country, with a big slug coming to, you guessed it, Queenz.
Queens has "plans" for all of its old, abandoned cememeteries. The developers have already started lining up.
They only cared about their votes. They voted to landmark as a cemetery, then forgot about it. That's all politician cares, nothing else. Now the landmark is in a worse shape, because owner can't touch it, nobody else care.
