The new school on Metropolitan Avenue and Tonsor Street in Ridgewood is coming along and I have to say the design is a step up from the recent school designs built.
The curve is cool.
And there's even a port-a-jane amidst the port-a-johns!

Why are most named buildings named after recent Democrat politicians?
Used to be we named buildings after great people, like Andrew Jackson, or Martin Van Buren or Peter Stuyvesant.
How significant is Ms Ferraro's contribution to society that a school should be named after her?
How about a high school named after Neil Armstrong or James Doolittle or Richard Byrd.
Why are we cluttering up the landscape with politicians?
For the same reason that North Korea names everything for the Kim family, Soviet Russia named everything for party hacks, and Nazi Germany named everything for henchmen.
Didn't her political career end on a low note with scandals involving her husband and son?I fail to understand why they named a school after her. Will we be naming schools after Michael Grimm or Charles Rangel in the future?

Had they contributed to any Machine campaign funds lately? No? Then tough titties.
Pick people from the city's history instead.
This started when they renamed Glenn Curtiss Field to LaGaurdia Airport.
Curtiss, from New York state, was second to the Wright Bros, in aircraft design. LaGaurdia was a pilot that lobbied for a NY Airport.
Oh yes, he was a politician too.

We live in a self-absorbed one party state.
And it seems like every street corner is now named after the most recently deceased community board chair.
They didn't name an airport after Glenn Curtiss. His company owned it.
Remember?, they renamed the Queensboro Bridge for a Manhattan resident, Ed Koch, who wanted to be buried in a Manhattan Church.

how about Donald Manes Middle School?
any other suggestions??....
No one is responsible for what someone else does - so please do not blame me for anything my ex did.
Not sure a school should be named after Van Buren.
Can we do this with subway stops next? Everything is for sale or gifting in order to curry favor amongst a certain party.
I graduated from John Bowne HS. Now that is a name that genders respect.
Gerry Ferraro? Hahahahaha...
That school looks more like a condo building.
Do you really think the inhabitants of these schools know who any of the people are who have schools named after them? It's all a joke anyway.
Anon No. 4:
LaGuardia (correct spelling) Field used to be North Beach Airport, not Curtiss Field.
LaGuardia was Glen Curtiss Airport before it was North Beach.
If only Fedders buildings followed the same design language as this school I wouldnt be so disgusted walking down my street.
