Glen Oaks Village replaces windows during Polar Vortex
"It's freezing cold out there today and Dun-Rite workers are installing windows on 76th Avenue and 246th Street in Bellerose, starting at 8am when the temp was 7 degrees. Most residents were in their pajamas or night dress when installers came knocking on their doors. Some could not even have a breakfast. The workers today are different from yesterday. Asked one worker and he clearly stated anyone who wants a job can come to work despite the weather. These are recruited by a temporary employment agency in Brooklyn and no handyman experience is required. Also asked the workers if they are cold and their reply is, "yes but we need the bread." No one from the usual crew showed up for work including Wallace and George who oversee everyone." - Glen Oaks Family on Facebook

Great - totally unskilled and abused workers picked up from the Home Depot parking lot!!!!
I think I would ding that company 25% of its fee but they'd probably steal that from the workers!
Doesn't sound like the work will be Dun-Rite to me.
It takes a village to do something so dumb.
You always want "no experience necessary" when installing windows.
Although doing it during a Polar Vortex does make it easy to test the windows for air leaks...
In that cold the windo frames will be shrunken. It may afford a tight fit once it warms up, but I bet a lot of the panes crack!
It is a amazing what they get away with in Queens ...
Bob Friedrich ignored everyone's plea and left town.
Why let them into your apartment ?
I would have told them to take a hike !
Anyone dare to challenge the president Bob Friedrich will end up evicted. Thats what going on there.
BTW, the windows are cheap crap. They don't have a proper locking mechanism. You need to use cumbersome plastic "stop sticks" to keep the windows from opening fully, although they still open quite wide. If you want to open the window fully you need to remove the sticks, which can be difficult, as is replacing them at night when you want to secure the windows.
