Nu? I've seen butchers cart meat from curb to counter like this for decades. Sorry to bore you with this but "you've got to eat a peck of dirt before you die." At least they didn't drop the carcasses in the gutter. How else do you transport the meat?
Don't waste your time. NYS Department of Agriculture and Marketing will take the complaint but they will never investigate.
Not only don't they investigate they will not give you any reference number for your call.
Well, for one, George, meat is supposed to be transported in a freezer truck.
Truck does not have to be refrigerated. The truck just has to be at a certain temperature
This is nothing, wait until you see them loading garbage from the store into the same truck after their meat delivery.
Bellerose Meat Market 253-06 Hillside Avenue.The store doesn't have a private carter and every night they remove their garbage in the same truck that just delivered meat products. NYS Agriculture and Marketing will take your complaint. But they don't tell you they don't investigate after hours. This one should be a no brainer. If they don't have a carting service how are they removing their garbage. Duh?? No one cares and no one investigates.
They scrub their meat with Ajax, so not to worry...

Probably Jamaica. Everything else gets dumped here.
I hate to break it to you but butcher shops are kind of gross places. The meat isnt picking anything up that cant be rinsed off, or that wont be destroyed when you cook it. Do you honestly believe that your supermarket's meat is any cleaner?
Joe, not to worry. It's all biodegradable...
That's why I cook all my meat medium-well before I eat.
Just to be safe I always rise my meat before cooking as well, except chop meat.
Not the point,these are violations that are being ignored.
The problem is no one is enforcing the rules. The only people held accountable are hard working Queens homeowners who try to obey the laws.
