Such fucking bullshit from DOB & the city. To this day I am still waiting for DOB to deal with a broken sidewalk in front of a vacant lot (which is now having an apartment building built on it) for over two years and three filed complaints. I could go on and on about other issues in Jamaica alone that DOB has ignored, but this guy they come down on.
This story makes me mad knowing the City dose nothing about illegal conversions of one and two family homes in my nabe but they give this guy a hard time over a handicap ramp that he most dearly needs to live his life independently.
Looking at the ramp its built from scraps and not to code. It may to narrow for firemen and all the gear they carry. Its also doubtful a EMS stretcher, dolly or board can make that landing turn to get through door quickly.
