'Coming to America' site stalled

From DNA Info:

Plans to build a luxury condo on the lot of a former Wendy's made famous in the movie "Coming to America" have been delayed after the Department of Buildings denied the construction company's permit, citing dozens of objections.

The plans to build a seven-story, mixed-use luxury building on the plot of land between Broadway and Reeder Street were not approved after the DOB found 70 objections that need to be addressed, according to a department spokeswoman.

She said the objections are mostly minor, but include zoning issues and the need for clarification on exit signs and fire ratings.

A secretary at Tan Architects, whose developer, Jerry Pi, also built the luxury building The Elm East across the street from the empty lot — said this week that the company was "still waiting for approval."

But plans were still set for construction to begin on the latest residential complex, called The Elm West, on the busy corner, according to the secretary, Winnie Mok.

What a shithole these Asians have made this area into. Luxury condos that eyesores and not architecturally anything to look at. With a thousand signs on stores and they don't even know what a power washer is or does they sure don't use them. What a great view they have across the boulevard a building that needs to be powerwashed badly. Luxury condos in a notnso luxury area. Fix up and clean up what has been done to that neighborhood first instead of building more s*it

Ive been trying to tell people that the government sold parts of nyc to china! I see the proof everywhere!
We do not need anymore luxury condos especially built by asians! All they do is house asians fresh off the boat in their buildings! But who would want to voluntarily live next to a bunch of asians anyway? Not me!

no one is buying these luxury condos/coops that are already built....not many people can afford it! The poverty rate in nyc is 21% and 49 percent of people are just barely getting by with their rent payments...they should look at the foreclosure lists before they keep building these "luxury apartments"..most of the housing on the foreclosure lists are coops/condos!

Yeah, flucking asians, man! They need to be shipped back to asia, ASAP. What we need are more blacks and puerto ricans to move into these areas-- like the bad old days back in the 60s and 70s. Hey, wait a minute-- with Bill Sandinista Duh-Blazio as MAyor for the next 12 years, we may just get that! Lucky us.

Anon 6....I had black neighbors growing up in the 80s and they were good neighbors... I am still friends with many of them to this day! People tend to forget that bayside had a huge black population! I had the best time and I had south American neighbors who were the best! Matter of fact they still live on my block! I had a lot of good blk/spanish neighbors!

Don't like Asians? Or any other peoples from other parts of the globe? Reproduce as much as they do.

Western civilization is slowly committing suicide because it's not regenerating itself at a fast enough pace.

While you buy into Paul Ehrlich's nonsense, or just decide you'd rather play video games than marry and have children, or whatever, non-European Americans are making babies. And they will find places to live and there is not a damn thing you can do about it, other than do the same.

Anon 8... most white people think about their finances before having children! If the economy is bad, why should we bring children that we cant pay for in this world? Thinking about our finances is alot better than bringing a child into this world living on foodstamps and section 8!

Bottom line here is this area needs some rhyme or reason before more "luxury condos" keep on being built. Zoning needs to change to keep the area decent and protect what is left of low lying areas to balance all these buildings. Some beautification needs to be implemented as well. You listening Dromm!
