From The Politicker:
The breakaway Democratic caucus in the State Senate is trying to recruit a candidate to unseat Senator Toby Stavisky, a Democrat from Queens, as they seek to strengthen their control of the chamber.
A source with direct knowledge of the Independent Democratic Conference’s plans freely admitted the efforts to Politicker this afternoon.
“The IDC is actively seeking a candidate,” he said.
Ms. Stavisky represents Flushing, the sole Asian-majority district in the State Senate, which factored into the IDC’s thinking. “The district was created to give Asian-Americans a greater voice in government,” said the source, arguing that changing demographics had made her vulnerable.

How about John Liu?
It's about time that Stavisky dynasty was broken up.
BEWARE that Evan isn't behind this caucus to unseat his own mother.
I wouldn't put it past that little brat.
Thar she blows! Get ready to take her down! Should be plenty of Asian and even non-Asian candidates that could be recruited.
Let's see. John Messer outspent Stavisky 3:1. But in the election, Stavisky defeated Messer 3:1. All the local Asian electeds backed incumbent Stavisky and the voters listened. Any discussion of Stavisky's demise is premature.
Furthermore, reporter Ross Barkan's repeated use of unnamed sources makes me wonder whether he is pulling them out of his own ass.
2 words: Kevin Kim.

I assume the potential candidate has to live within the boundaries of Stavisky's senatorial district, or at least be willing to move there. Kim used to live in Bayside. Does Paul Graziano live in Stavisky's district or in Avella's district?

Ya shouldn't assume, matey. Does Stavisky live in her district currently? Did you know her office on Willets Point Blvd. is unmarked and in Avella's district? Just sayin'...
District 16 includes Bayside.

Kevin Kim moved into Stavisky's district two months ago.
Paul Graziano was moved from Avella's district to Stavisky's district during the State Redistricting in 2011.
John Liu was moved from Stavisky's district to Avella's district at the same time.
I'd put my money on Kevin Kim running. From what I can tell, Graziano is interested in local issues, not being exiled to Albany.
Answer: No. But just remember we're all just hangin out

That District is heavily Korean as well as being heavily Chinese.
Also, Kevin has beaucoup $$$$, so I wouldn't count him out.
Finally, why the heck would he move to that district two months ago if he could stay in his multi-million dollar apartment in Manhattan if he wasn't going to run??
Word has it that Al Centola is running with the backing of the Juniper Park machine, now led by none other than Frank Skala.
