Hello cousin Comrie:
Over the weekend P/J team embarked on review. Here is our update. The ladies' toilet at the "E" Jamaica is still too dirty and dingy to be acceptable.
In a letter dated 5/23/13 you stated that you visited the toilet. Further, you sent a letter to Joseph Raskin/Director of community& government relations. He was supposed to better the conditions. However, there is very little change.
The scent was a bit more tolerable because the outter floor was semi-cleaned. There was a strong smell of bleach.
However, on the inside, the unidentified black object is still intact. Wires are still hanging from the ceiling and there were no toilet paper, hand sanitizer, nor paper towel.
Can you follow-up on this matter?
Photos were taken on 9/21/13: The men's toilet at the "E" station, Jamaica Center had such an awful odor that my team member held his nose and scampered out.
The floor is a national disgrace. Is this the best you can do for your constituents/ voters/ cousins before you close your final curtain? Have you followed-up with Mr.Raskin/ director of community & government relation?
What a travesty.

In the words of my former students, and I quote,"Ay,que Nasty!"
The lazy obese one obviously has no self respect; he could care less for his constituents. He can barely walk 10 steps before having to catch his breath.
Here's an idea: go to the loo at home. Close the public restroom once and for all.
The one commenter is absolutely right, Councilman Leroy Comrie, who has been in office 12 years could care less about his constituents because if he did, under his reign Jamaica would not look like it does and this shinning example of the Jamaica Center subway restrooms are an example. Granted it is a public subway restroom, but come on. This was the exact same station that Comrie a few weeks ago was standing in passing out flyers for Melinda Katz. He should have used those flyers to clean the restrooms.
I would say that Jamaica with it's large number of elected officials has to have the worst elected politicians of any community in NYC (a bunch of do nothings, crooks, lazy, incompetent, useless and no vision or backbone). All one needs to do to see that is to look at the condition of Jamaica.
Rasin has a book coming out in a few weeks: The Routes Not Taken: A Trip Through New York City's Unbuilt Subway System. If he does a book signing, you should bring him the photos to autograph. I know they say, "Any port in a storm," but there's no way that humans could use those bathrooms.
You should take a trip to the restrooms at 71st/Continental in tony Forest Hills on a Friday Night.
On more than one occasion I've had to relieve myself after a long commute. When you got there you'll find a long line of men waiting to get in yet the urinals are free. They're all queued up for the stalls. And guess what's going on in there.
Reminds me of the things my parents warned me about during my 1970s Queens childhood. EV Grieve would probably approve.
Have you been the the Queens Library rest rooms?
Millions on capital funds, and an overworked underpaid babysitter staff.
And parts of it look like a shithouse.
Rasin has a book coming out in a few weeks
Sorry, that should have been Raskin.
Have you been the the Queens Library rest rooms?
Well, President/CEO Tom Galante decided to contract out custodial services, so that could be the result.
overworked unpaid babysitter staff?? those people get paid and the majority are not American Citizens, thanks to the QBPL "New Americans" program. That's PC speak for Illegal Immigrants.
the toilets are just like those back home in the third world country the bastards have come from.
those people get paid and the majority are not American Citizens, thanks to the QBPL "New Americans" program
Last time I checked, the New Americans Program taught coping skills and provided cultural programs to immigrants who had to adjust to a new country. It's not a pool to recruit employees, nor does it grant degrees. The minimum qualification to be a librarian is a Master's degree in library science, and many also earn an additional Master's degree in a subject area so that they can be subject specialists.
To paraphrase Randall McMurphy in One Flew over The Cuckoo's Nest: "I plan to crap in 'em, not eat lunch out of 'em"
Yea...I once went to the restroom in queensboro plaza (only because I really couldn't hold it!) And it was looking just as bad as the Jamaica one. The problem with closing public restrooms is that there are way too many homeless in nyc who will crap on the sidewalk!! So we just have to be thankful that some of them do use the toilets in the train stations or else we wouldn't just be seeing dog crap on the sidewalks that's for sure!
Pee on the tracks boys!
Not for nothing folks, and all bitterness and snarky comments asids about the Councilman,we,but especially he should be concerned for his health. From the description given by Anonymous #2 ,,Mr. Comrie should seek medical attention STATfailure,as he may be suffering from congestive
heart failure.I say this not as a medical professional, but as one who suffered from rhe consition some 20 years ago.Mr.Comrie should be encouraged to see a cardiologist,as effective treatment is available.
No bitterness toward Councilman Leroy Comrie, just the truth about a councilman in my district for 12 long years who has failed to address major issues in Jamaica, any type of action plan or any type of solutions, especially concerning the major garbage problem, which is a quality of life issue. And he is one of the better local Jamaica politicians, so that does not speak well for the other useless or corrupt ones.
PJ, I totally know what you're talking about. It is like it's a fucking party with 6 guys lined up. Gross! Definitely not my kind of party!
Joe-no bitterness? It should be your middle name if that spot wasn't already occupied by Jamaica and garbage.
