From the Queens Courier:
State Senator Jose Peralta is dropping his bid for borough president and endorsing county pick Melinda Katz for the job.
Peralta, along with Councilmember Leroy Comrie, was thought at one point to get the county’s Democratic Party endorsement for Borough Hall. District leaders ultimately backed Katz, a former councilmember and former assemblymember who’s second in polls and fund raising.
Insiders believe Democrats have been pressuring candidates to drop out and make way for Katz, who will likely face a general election as Republican Tony Arcabascio has declared an interest in running.

Sliwas posse probably shook him down.
Couldn't stand up to the scrutiny? Weasel...
Coward. I'm glad to see Peralta bow out, but since most voters are ignorant, why back down just because the county leaders pick someone else? He's got 300Gs. if he really wanted to he could bring out the hispanic vote and be a contender. Not that it'd be good for Queens, but just sayin'...
He does what we tell him to do. They all do.
Sorry, Virginia Joe, but I was told that Comrie will announce on Monday that he is staying in the race. Good for him.
