For free bike, just yank

From Metro:

Two men were arrested on Tuesday after they stole a Citi Bike from its dock and complained about unfair bike share prices to a pair of plainclothes officers, police said.

Police said they believed the suspects had simply removed the bikes by pulling really hard.

There ya go--another one of Bloomberg's follies.

Didn't "hizzoner" learn anything from all of those vandalized phone booths in the past?

As far as the "yank" part of it goes--we taxpayers just got jerked royally!

Mayor Mike...grab a bike and take a hike!
Waiting until November is too long a wait.

Mike Bloomberg is the greatest, most visionary mayor this city has ever had.

Bike sharing is brilliant. It's going to help so many people get in shape and live longer.

Cars and SUVs are the enemy of all that's good. They're just the worst example of this so-called American freedom that has stood in the way of Utopia for decades. Slowly but surely we'll catch up to our betters in Europe.

Jerry, what does this have to do with taxpayers? Citibike is fully funded by Citi Corp and usage fees. It is not a tax-supported program.

Who installed the bike racks? DOT. Taxpayer funded agency. Who is putting babysitters on corners to explain how to use the program? DOT. Who paid for the arrest processing and court time of the individuals in question? Taxpayers. Please spare me the BS that taxpayers aren't paying a dime for BikeShare.

More lies from the bike crowd:

According to city records, New York City budgeted $1.55 million for the bike-share program over two years, and has spent $600,000 of that. The city declined to comment on its bike-share spending.
