Seems as if the General Manager of the Hotel Z went to a printer and had the signs made up to grant himself exclusive "permission" to park on the sidewalk.

Jimmy Van Bramer thinks development like this is neat.
The fact that long term residents are being displaced and the St Mary's Senior Center closed is collateral damage.
He's not the only one. There's 3-4 cars always parked on the sidewalk next to the building. The sidewalk is recesses over 12 feet from curb so it's private property. BUT, there is no curbcut so they have drive on sidewalk to get there so it is illegal.
Is this a "hot sheets" hotel?

This is nothing. Kopell on Northern Boulevard and 35 Avenue has been putting a ton of cars on the sidewalk for years. About 12 years a cop buddy of mine who worked in the 114 and actually cared about the neighborhood because he grew up here, went over and warned them about the cars on the sidewalk. When they blew off his warning, he went down a couple of days later and summonsed all the cars. He then found out that someone "took care" of the summonses at the precinct. He then went over, worte all the cars again and made sure the summonses all made it to Parking Violations Bureau. He was transferred to the Bronx within a week.
A certain city councilman is rumored to fix traffic tickets which is one of the reasons his lumpen proletariat act like they are in a witness protection program any time someone criticizes him.
Why doesn't the hotel have a parking lot? Why did the city and CB approve a hotel without a parking lot? Oh... never mind...
