Facade collapse near Queens Center Mall

From Eyewitness News:

A 22-year-old man was taken to Elmhurst hospital after façade collapse at the GameStop he worked at in Queens.

The incident took place on the 92nd street side of a building across from the Queens Center Mall.

Authorities say the victim worker was transported to the hospital with a serious head injury, but was expected to survive.

30 seconds away from where St John's Hospital used to be. I wonder how long it took him to get him to another emergency room.

Most likely caused by vibrations from the subway below.

Anon No. 2: The subway has been there since the 1930s, a long time before that building went up. The people who built it did make allowance for vibrations. Otherwise, there are a whole lot of buildings along Queens Boulevard (and a lot of other streets in this city) that would have caved in over the years. How well-maintained is this building?
