Thank you. I remember going to adventurers inn as a child and teenager. It was always great fun and very special. My favorite was the electric go carts. That ride was on the right just after you walked into the entrance of the park.
I was too young and prohibited from going on several of the rides shown in this video. But I remember the arcade, especially Skee Ball. Thanks for the video.
In the opening, there is the sign "BAD BUMP". Oh i remember the bump! We lived it the bronx, and passed the Adventurers Inn on our way to air port (large, far flung family meant we were always picking some one up, or driving them there.) the bump has is gone with the last upgrade to the highway--I miss it as much!

I remember going on a roller coaster called "Mighty Mouse," but don't remember if it was at Adventurers Inn or another local place.

You know what would be great, do the reverse of what Bloomberg is planning; make Queens the ultimate single family middle class neighborhood remove the industrial sites and bring back Adventurers Inn and more things like that. N.F.P.
I'm 45 years old and grew up in Flushing, 2nd generation. I have vivid momories of this place as well as the drive-in theater across the road. That area has so much history. I would march in my grammar school band up a cobblestoned Northern Blvd.,trolley tracks and all.
The Wild Mouse was at Rye Beach. Great ride.
Now, going to the dangerous backwater of Flushing is really an adventure!

I lived at 33-11 Farrington St. from 1965-1969. We were practically right down the street from the Adventurers Inn!
My Parents would take me there every weekend! Although I'm 51 now, I remember it like it was yesterday! GREAT MEMORIES!!!
There is a real story behind Adventurers Inn that is never told... a sad one. About how corrupt Queens Borough officials shook down its owner and when he failed to pay or cede to their demands, the property and everything on it was condemned by the city via eminent domain. On the pretense that they were building an industrial park. But the millions that were to be paid the owner for property and fixtures never came -- NYC was on the edge of going bankrupt and the case dragged on for years -- costing him millions. That's why all the rides and attractions remained on site, untouched and just rotted out over the next five years. Donald Manes, the corrupt Queens county official was at the center of this injustice. Just thought I would shed some light on a place that seems to have a nostalgic renaissance on the net -- an insider. BTW, Queens Crap is a brilliant site.
One of my relatives was a majority owner of Adventurers Inn. The City of New York absolutely took this property and paid virtually nothing for this site. Just another eminent domain nightmare brought to you by what was then a very corrupt county.
For me, it was a quick stop for a good hot dog on the way down to the air port from Connecticut. Easy access off and back onto the Whitestone Expwy.
My family moved to College Point in '72 when I was 2. It was a great town to grow up in. Mom is still there, but it has changed a lot. Way too overcrowded now, like a lot of other neighborhoods.
I remember Adventurer's Inn fondly as i've wasted away most of my teenage years and a great deal of quarters in this joint. Speaking of which, getting quarters was an ordeal since the creepy guy (Quasi) counted 'em out one at a time. Eventually, I wised up, went to the bank and brought a few rolls of my own. I could make an evening out of $20 back then; $5 for a movie at the Whitestone Cinemas across the way, $5 at Mickey D's and the rest for a fun-filled night of videogaming. However, leaving the Inn was a bit of a hazard because the 'hood was a dangerous place to be that late at night. Many sketchy types lurking around the nearby PJs, which was right across the street from the bowling alley where the 25/34 stopped on its way back to the relative safety of Main Street.

REALLY WISH ADVENTURERS INN WAS STILL OPEN, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SMALL WITH JUST A FEW RIDES, IT WAS STILL PRETTY FUN GOING THERE, ONLY ONE WE HAD IN QUEENS. REALLY LIKE TO KNOW THE REAL REASON IT CLOSED. NOT LIKE FAIRY LAND, WHERE QUEENS CENTER BOUGHT THE LAND TO MAKE THE MALL. TOO BAD QUEENS HAS NO AMUSEMENT PARK!!!
Ah yes Adventures inn, I grew up in Whitestone and remember my father taking me there as a kid for the rides but my fondest memories where the ones as a teenager spending my Friday/Saturday nights at the arcade with my girlfriend and friends through the eighties where punk rock and new wave ruled the air waves, pinball was my desire and remember games like comet, high speed, pin bot, cyclone, taxi, black night sucked me dry, the memories mean so much that I purchased these games for my man cave in the last couple of years, adventures inn memories have inspired me to try and relive these simple but great times in my life, going across the expressway to eat at Roy Rogers which is now I believe a Wendy’s , bowling at Whitestone lanes and also visiting back then a placed called aaa amusements I believe which was a competing arcade with adventures inn......long live adventures inn!!! The big bump sign was also a thrill for me as we visited my cousins in Astoria I remember seeing the sign and holding on tight to the seat belt as we went over that bump and my stomach felt queezy.
Went to Adventures Inn quite a bit when my Twin sister and me were kids. Our parents were divorced and my father would sit inside and drink his coffee and smoke his cigarettes while my sister and me spent the afternoon on the rides.
