If CW11 Constituent Liaison Greg Mocker doesn't have a follow-up answer from the DOT, he should hold the story until he has an answer. Don't leave the viewers hanging.
The purpose of Greg Mocker reporting this construction debacle/issue is to bring attention to it and GET an answer (not wait till he has an answer before reporting it) hopefully speed up a resolution to the issue and re~open 149 Street!
Is anyone going to do anything about this situation? I wonder. Several people and groups/agencies have been, obviously, contacted, including paper and tv reporters, the city agencies involved, a state senator's office staff, and others. Does this website accomplish anyting, does it serve any purpose towards this goal? How long will this article and story be noticed on these 2 websites? Thank~you, concerned citizen/resident.
According to DOT, there are some "defects" which may only mean they don't like the way some things were done by the contractor. If that's the case,b let's get the street open so it can be used and no longer a Dead End! As far as those 6 metal locked boxes glued the the concrete road in middle of the street, what's happening with them? Although only placed there very recently, should not take very long to get what information they want or find that info doesn't exist and that their clkaim is incorrect that anything is wrong. Btwn what IS the purpose if those boxes? Does anyone know or trying to find out?
Senator Tony Avella would like to have a press conference at this street location but needs more people to show up. If you feel affected by this street baricaded for 3 yrs please contact Senator Tony Avella's office at 718-357-3094.
It appears that Ch 7 cancelled interviews with residents and elected officials when they found out Ch 11 already had done some reporting on this story. That's a shame. More of the major networks should report a story on this issue, esp since each network tends to say a story slightly differently.

Isn't the firehouse on that block???
Firehouse is on Murray St.
In almost every way,
Flushing appears to be the ultimate DEAD END!
Don't let the BID bullshit you.
This IS NOT a destination of choice, except for those who have very little choice.
Are you hearing me BID director Dian Yu?
What are you doing with all the money you collect besides collecting your salary?

I thought Greg's reporting purpose was to make money from the ad that is run before his weak reporting gig is aired!
