Only $2 billion. Ben Bernanke prints that in less THAN A DAY! He is printing $85 Billion per month right now, with no end in sight. Like $25 a gallon gas?
I think the reason, which I agreed with, for #7 Train extensionto Javitz Center, was valid and even wise when the original plan was to double the current size of the Jacob Javitz Convention Center and modify it for most conventions that currently go to other cities. Now, I don't see the reason or much benefit to extending it there since the Javitz expansion has been decreased to, I believe, a mere 5000 Sq Feet. Which is a joke, that's nothing. Instead Bloomberg wants to basicaly build a new NYC with Convention Center, mall, a complete mini city, industrial/commercial site at Willets Point, expand the downtown Flushing district with Flushing Commons, and I forget the name of project from College Point Blvd to Flushing River between the Flushing Bridge and Roosevelt Ave (by Skyview), expansion of USTA, Soccer Stadium in Flushing Meadow Park. If the feds weren't backing this kind of waste, it would never happen.
$5 a ride soon.
I drove to NJ on Sunday via the Verrazano and Goethals Bridges. The round trip total tolls were - with EZ pass - $19.85 for a passenger vehicle.
And MTA everything is going up March 3.
Construction union payoff, kickbacks to pols, wash rinse and repeat. Taxpayer screwed.

Let's call it the #7 train erection!
Somebody's got a hard-on for construction contracts!
Has there been a subway expansion that hasn't benefited New Yorkers?
