The Sunnyside Post:
A 6 story residential building is about to be constructed on 43rd Street, between 43rd and Skillman Avenues, in Sunnyside.
The building will be comprised of 30 apartments and will have a glass and brick exterior, according to the owner of the building. The apartments will be all rentals.
The abandoned house is scheduled to be demolished any day now, the building owner said. The development is expected to be completed within 2 years.
2 years to build crap? Geez.

Isn't Sunnyside newly 'rezoned'?
Its a 'Queens Rezone'
Take a 7 story and zone it for 5, then watch 2s bought for teardowns, and get variances for 6.
It's really going to screw up their neighbors views....
How ironic--
a portion of Sunnyside falls under the shadows of a new building.
Block out the sunlight and fill up the sky plane.
Not a very sunny proposal--is it?
glass and steel architecture. great for high winds nad other storms.
Youngsters in New York city realize at around age 12 that you can only build upwards in this city.
It'll be broke and stalled inside of one year.
So, the developer is also paying for the gas/water/sewer/power upgrades to handle the additional load on this block, yes? They are also going to build more room at the local school and hire more police officers for this area, correct?
people wonder why we have blackouts that can't be fixed quickly, interrupted phone service that can't be fixed quickly because of the infrastructure being unable to handle the overload and flooding because concrete can't absorb all the rain water. It's always about profit
Looks like the house will join its long gone neighbors.
The city needs to look into impact fees. Developers can build to higher densities, but will have to pay into a fund for local infrastructure to pay for upgrades and expansions to offset the development impact.
More affordable housing? ……….. NOT!!!!!
