These were taken from the
Hurricane Sandy Storm Tide Mapper. Notice the areas flooded. Never build or buy a house on: a barrier beach, landfill, low-lying areas, or within 1/4 mile of a river, whether at the surface or buried. You can't fool Mother Nature, and she can kick your ass.

Aside from Coney Island and the Rockaways, how much of the flooded land was landfill? The water reclaimed it. Same thing in Manhattan.
Looks like the area where the MSL stadium is supposed to get built got flooded.
Let's see how serious they are about not building in flood areas !
P.T. Barnum:
"A sucker is born every minute"!
And now, my good friends...The Gospel, according to Bloomberg:
"Yea....so it is written...as long as there are well off gullible yuppies around...my developer pals will continue to build in flood zones.
Yea...we shall continue to fleece these ignorant hipsters...walk away with bags of gold....and leave them holding the bag when a flood washes away their dreams.
Blessed be the name of Bloomberg....LOL"!
But your home or condo in a class "A" flood zone,
and kiss your $$$$$$ goodbye!
I guess that's what is meant by liquid assets!
Correction:
I meant "BUY" your home...not "but".
Water seeks its own level,
which is usually the lowest elevated land mass!
Google Earth has an option to show you the elevation in feet above sea level. Turn on this option to see the elevation of where ever hover the mouse.
Cannot be true.
The Queens weeklies all said the storm damage outside of the Rockaways and Broad Channel was 'minimal.'
All our pols read that like the rest of us.
They said nothing.
Now is the press and the pols playing around with us to cover this up?
All of this talk of water makes me want to wee-wee...
oui oui?
I think I'll hold it in until I reach the steps of city hall .
A la sante monsieur!
