This is not new, it has been going on for some time, along with the all the commercial vehicles that now use resedential streets for overnight parking. It has become impossible to find parking, the leaders of this city don't care because they are fighting real problems like obesity, and intolerance, you know real evils
Yeah, nothing new: I echo Anon #1. As to the overnight commercial parking, many businesses are sub-dividing their space, so they're storing vehicles on the street. I wonder if their insurance carriers care, since the cops don't?
Anonymous said... Its usually happens during the day. At night, the dealers move the cars into the fenced in lots, and lock it up. ----------------------------------------------- And your point is???
Any motor vehicle parked on a public street over 6 hours without license plates is considered abandoned. please feel free to call 311.......often............the squeaky wheel gets the grease!
Is there not an irony to the fact that car owners, myself included, use the street for private storage? It's funny that some get upset if someone puts a storage pod in their driveway or on their lawn on their own private property, but don't think a thing about storing their car on the public street. Let's be honest most of us car owners use the street as our private parking lot.
And here we have another tard trying to make the argument that everyone owns the street and therefore people shouldn't park private vehicles on it. Zoning is created taking into consideration the parking needs of area residents. They are expected to park on the street. All businesses are required to provide off-street parking for their vehicles, and that is the issue here.
Let's not forget that whenever DCP tries to require more off-street parking for new developments, the save-the-planet people complain that it encourages car use. Then they bitch when cars park on the street. It's best to pay no mind to these morons.
""call 311..often.......the squeaky wheel gets the grease!. ----------------------------- Doubt it, I had 2 junkers sitting on Seneca ave in Ridgewood over 2 weeks. I was told it isn't an emergency, then "cardboard window Delaware temp tags are good for 2 weeks call back then"
Most doing this are not dealers, these are "street pirates" buying the cars out of state at auctions. These out of state "hillbilly" Delaware, Tennessee, Pa auctions that issue cardboard temp registration tags (no proof of insurance needed). You simply proceed to the cashier booth, sign for your car and get a 2 week temp tag. (this as most cases the title is "attached" and processed with whatever ID the auction house was given). Look closely in the back windows when you see these cars.
The bast thing to do in my opinion is keep your mouth SHUT and hope somehow the cardboard tags (or whole cars) start "disappearing" Then the owners will have to play "splain the cops" and "Ring Around Rosie" with city hall what they were doing. The bums will need to provide a valid title with VIN#, bill of sale, DMV DTF-802...ALL matching to a valid drivers license & insurance to get there cars back or even report them missing !
Most these "street pirates" cant provide the above because they gave fake ID knowing the cars would get parking tickets. Most are illegal aliens, welfare brats looking to make an extra buck under the radar.
Anyway that in my **opinion** is how you screw with "street pirates" GOOD and keep them OUT the neighborhood.
the "CHOSEN" elite violators ,who who park their 6-10 business vans on public streets overnight with special licenses, are exempt from summonses that the "little people" get. check out 42 avenue/F.Lewis Blvd.,Flushing/Bayside.
even the local civic, with it's widely read newsletter has failed to get the D.O.T. to prevent this.for about five years......
Well this is certainly nothing new to that area of any of the nabes across the bqe/lie. -henry tweeding as u guys say. nobody cares except the brave few.
Try Clintonville and 17th where you can not only get used cars, but illegal maids, whose relatives will build you an illegal apartment to house them so they can spread swine flu.
