Crime isn't up, and we have enough cops

From NBC:

In his weekly appearance on the John Gambling radio show, Mayor Bloomberg said the city does not need to increase the number of NYPD officers it employs.

Bloomberg said that the number of officers in the city has remained the same over the last 10 years and that crime rates have continually dropped.

A tale of 2 cities, his and ours. Maybe in his rarefied one crime is down and it has enough cops, but here in the 'burbs, it's up and we lack cops.

crime is most certainly up for sure-- i would like to know what planet this mayor is on and from where he gets his stats from

Oh good, I was worried there for awhile.

Ask the head of the public safety in City Council where he was while his community fell into chaos when the lights went out a few years ago.

Just think of how well we would be when he occupies the seat at Borough Hall.

Wait a minute - its QUEENS Borough Hall.

Sorry, no problem.

And the check is in the mail!

He who cooks the books controls the numbers.

This man is delusional. An average of two patrol cars per precinct per tour is GROSSLY INNADEQUATE to handle the thousands of patrol related assignments in any given area.

I agree, enough cops already!

I want to know what he's smoking. This guy is clueless.

There's a cliche I am thinking of, something to do with a river in Egypt. Hmmm.... How does that go?

Mr Mayor
Then please explain why crime in NYCH projects is up 70%
versus 2010????? You lying fool.

when doomsberg said that the Times Square car bomber was probably a "disgruntled citizen over the health care/unemployment controversy" i was stunned by his insulting our intelligence.

but his latest lobby effort ,one day after the MOVIE MASSACRE IN COLORADO , to push for government gun control, and state" that U.S. City policemen strike for gun control" is really showing an illness, poor judgement, and attempt to violate the U.S. Constitution.

Funny, I was just commenting to someone how the Guiliani era cleaning up has severely gone away and you can't walk the streets of Manhattan without encountering homeless, vagrants, and crazies again.

What everyone is forgetting is that the mayor is much smarter than all of us, so if he says crime is down then it is and that's all we need to know. So please everyone just relax and wait for his next proclamation

At heart he is a democrat / fascist

At heart, he is completely amoral and apolitical. Whatever it takes to get ahead.

Okay,Mikey, keep fudging those stats! There's plenty enough cops around- to write all those damn tickets you're so fond of. The real source of tax income in NYC.Just make sure that all the RMPs have that low frequency feature so their victims are not unaware of their impending fleecing so you can pay for that monstrosity you're putting up on the toxic soil in College Point!

Didn't I just read the other day that crime is up in the subway 15%? I guess the subway is not part of the city? Hmmm I can ride the trains for months without seeing a cop. Kids are doing summersaults to hip hop music almost kicking riders in the face, bums are panhandling, crazy people acting out, homeless stinking out entire train cars, kids doing pullups on the handrails, without a single undercover cop to be found. Not like the Guiliani years where every time a skell did his thing, you'd see a guy yank out a badge and pull the nut out of the train. After all the cuts, there are no cops left, except the tens of thousands patrolling that small patch of land called times square.

I've never seen so many short, fat cops..........i feel safe, don't you?
