Judge claims police brutality

From the NY Times:

Queens prosecutors and a police internal affairs unit that investigates brutality complaints are trying to determine whether a police officer accused of hitting a State Supreme Court justice in the throat and assaulting a handcuffed man committed a crime, officials briefed on the case said on Wednesday.

Investigators have identified the officer, several of the officials said. The judge, Justice Thomas D. Raffaele, 69, said the uniformed officer flew into a rage on a Queens street last week and struck him, apparently mistaking him for one of the hecklers who were jeering at the officer and complaining about his treatment of the handcuffed man.

The judge picked the officer’s picture out of a photo array, two of the officials said. The New York Police Department did not release the name of the officer, who works in the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights, Queens, and Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly said that his duty status had not changed, meaning he remained assigned to patrol duties.

We're policed by suburban punks who don't live here and have no stake in the community whatsoever. They're here because they couldn't pass the Nassau or Suffolk tests.. Sort of an occupying army.

The cops should have just said to Thomas D. Raffaele "OK. You're in charge now." and returned to the precinct.

Anon. #2 is correct. These men and women who come into Queens from LI, Westchester, and NJ, (a) resent that they are assigned to Jackson Heights, and (b) really resent "processing" all the drunks, crack-heads etc. that they are called to do.

Correct, but I don't think that a current resident from Jackson Heights, Woodside, Elmhurst, Corona, Astoria or Flushing would have necessarily handled this situation any differently.

The cops should go back to being report takers.Respond after the fact and don't be pro-active.............every lib,i mean person, for himself. That will cut down on civilian complaints......

By the way, one of these cops grew up in Brooklyn and another grew up in Woodside. So much for suburban punks.

Anon. 8 - Want to bet they don't live in Brooklyn and Woodside now and that resent their job?

This wave of police brutality is no surprise... Did you know that the Israeli Mossad is training some of our small-town cops now? The Posse Comitatus act has prevented the military from being used as law enforcement, so they've found a clever way around it: make the police INTO the military! This is just one piece of the bigger picture showing that the US is headed for martial law... Check out http://www.martiallawusa.com if you want to see more signs that our Constitution is being dismantled.
