Here's what it looked like before. Ugly either way. https://maps.google.com/maps?q=57-36+75+STREET&ll=40.7276,-73.886168&spn=0.010293,0.022466&hnear=57-36+75th+St,+Elmhurst,+Queens,+New+York+11379&gl=us&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=40.727703,-73.886176&panoid=mqQF9gdhKJWo-Ljl_33MJw&cbp=12,229.72,,0,15.73

You fail to grasp the point. "Ugly" is not the concern. The runoff flowing into the street causing flooding, is.

It is ugly and illegal since it cannot absorb the water. But the DOB does not respond to this complaints.

The damage is done and the Buildings Department can't and won't do anything about it except write a violation, eventually.
THE SYSTEM NEED TO BE CHANGED

And an ugly third-world-style 8 foot high fence or wall would be coming next...

Yeah, this isn't an example of the DoB "catching" anyone... did they respond to the complaint? what, if any, action was taken?

HELLO people? Click on the link I posted next to the word "Result"

Ha Ha Ha, this story is over and there is nothing that the Buildings department can do.

The DOB can force the homeowner to return the property to its former condition or face heavy fines.

Yea right, unless it's a life safety issue the Buildings Department can only write violations, they can't enforce corrections.
Our elected officials need to change the laws, until this happens. The only thing the Buildings department can do is write violations.
Wait until your home and quality of life is effected by the Buildings Department Department lack of enforcement ability.

Looks like a new and illegal driveway was going in between two of those brick pillars.

lol @ Complaint #1: The no permit part is valid, but there is barely any sidewalk to speak of on the block, and it gets worse as you walk down 75 St.

Um and I wonder who called in to complain and probably thwarted the owner's future plan to add another story to the house.
