Auburndale property cleaned but not secure
From NY1:
A month after NY1's first story aired, the local community board said the Sanitation Department removed 11 tons of garbage from the boarded-up property.
The site became an illegal dumping ground after a developer halted construction on these two-family homes several years ago. The project was riddled with problems, as it had over 30 Department of Buildings violations totaling over $100,000 in fines.
Local leaders and community newspapers have spent years trying to get the city to do something about the site.
"We are very thankful to Channel 1 and all of the local newspapers who have been covering this story," said Henry Euler of the Auburndale Improvement Association.
There are still problems. While the city did board up some of the entrances and garage doors, it is not entirely secured and residents say there is easy access for squatters.

At what point does the city get to demolish these nuisance structures?
