Guess what... they pay taxes too...and high ones in fact. Not saying the street signs are a good idea, personally i could care less, just saying that your comment was a little ridiculous.

42 avenue in Auburdale/Bayside was "PALACE AVENUE",a century ago.
I'm for renaming some of downtown Flushing's streets to reflect realty.

Anonymous, that's how life works. You pay taxes, and sometimes the money goes to things you don't want it to. That's modern society for you.
Wish they would do this elsewhere.

As taxpayers, we pay for what our leaders consider to be a priority, and their priorities lie in what they think will get them re elected.

What about the rest of us? My survey lists the old name of my street in Whitestone. May I have it (name) back?
But aren't addresses easier to find with numbered streets?
