Astoria Ugly:
I’m OK with infill, I really am. But does it have to be so damn ugly?
Why the hell are you ok with
infill? It's probably the one loophole that developers have used to destroy Queens more than any other. If a block is made up of predominantly attached homes, then feel free to tear down whatever one- and two-families remain and put up walls of 6-families in their place. It used to be nice to find a "diamond-in-the-rough" house filled with character, and every neighborhood had them, but the last decade of development has dramatically reduced your chances of finding them anywhere, especially in Astoria.

Wait if paul gets district 19 and Pete gets BP. Queens will be raped!
Question:
If everyone knows this, why don't they grow a pair and ask Junior about this on the beep campaign trail in front of the press, or better yet, record it and send it to Crappy?
And while you are at it, ask about the $3 million lounge area for the Astoria Pool that the little nitwit is calling a 'theater'.
Vallone(s) speak with forked-tongue!
"Hail, hail Vallonia...it ain't exactly Duck Soup"!
North Flushing will be destroyed by developers if Paul wins in November.
Look at Flushing south of Northern Blvd. between Parsons and 162nd Street to see the future wave of Crap coming soon to every neighborhood.
IMAO !
If Paul takes the eastern 19th district and Pete Jr. loses the BP race--remaining where he is as a councilman in the west--then Queens gets it from both ends instead of just one!
This is classic military pincer movement strategy
on the part of the Vallone army.
If Pete Jr. takes the borough presidency and Paul loses the 19th district race--in one fell swoop Queens becomes "Vallonia"!
You'd better vote wisely folks.
The Vallone dynasty is bad enough. Do you want a wannabee emperor ruling your neighborhood?
Not content with their LIC-Astoria western empire,
the Vallones seek to rip Queens a new asshole in the northeastern provinces.
Paul "the plunderer' must not gain a city council seat!
Vote for Paul Graziano, community leader...
not Paul Vallone, neighborhood rapist!
Vallone(s) fuck with forked-dick!
I think this issue deserves more serious treatment than bathroom humor.
That house was left abandoned for a few months before they tore it down. Central american squatters moved in for awhile.
Graziano's not running. I'm writing in Al Centola. If you like Graziano better, write him in.
Who's the better candidate for beep?
And Peter Jr. can't stay in his current seat, by the way: term limits.
Sorry, Vallonia has moved to Whitesone!
Paulie has his fingers So far up the land use chairs ass that he wins no matter what. Whitestone and bayside are theirs for the taking.
God I hope Centola or Graziano throw their had in the ring or anyone other than the current list of crap.
There used to be a farmhouse here back in the early 1900s
Surrounded by 10 acres of farmland. It was owned by the Thorne family. There isnt a square inch of bare earth on this block now. Isn't there a city law that prevents de elopes from cementing over a certain percentage of property based on the size of the lot?
Answer please Mr Vallone.
Uh buddy,
the reason south of Northern Blvd. looks like crap is that it's zoned for much higher density.
Even Paul Vallone can't destroy the R1-2A zoning north of Northern B'vd. That's the best in the city.
BTW.
Don Paulo lives north of Northern Blv'd.
One thing that history has proven, the Vallones don't shit in their own yards.
The part of Astoria that daddy Pete senior lives in is fine.

Once new homes are built, the owners
can easily convert the insides to a multiple dwelling. The DOB is useless in getting back in to inspect after a complaint is made.
I have seen this many times here in North Flushing. One can tell the home is occupied by too many people by the amount of garbage placed outside for pick-up, the number of cars parked in the driveways and the number of door bells seen on the door.
So how good is R1-2A zoning north of Northern B'vd. without the DOB doing it's job ? Uh Buddy that...
I'm OK with infill because I live in a city, and I appreciate the value of density. I don't like the suburbs.
But Vallone can suck it.
The value of density? Tell me, what is valuable about overcrowded schools and subways, garbage piled high and deep, a fried electrical grid and overburdened sewer system and lots more pollution?
The only thing worse than density is, as Jane Jacobs phrased it, the great blight of dullness. Unfortunately in Astoria we get density in the form of ugly architecture. But at least it's not the dullness of the burbs.
