Lawsuit to stop College Point transfer station

From the Daily News:

Building a city waste transfer station near LaGuardia Airport could lead to more delayed and cancelled flights, a new economic study shows.

The North Shore Marine Transfer Station, which is being in built in College Point, would make it impossible for the airport to use a system that helps planes land in low-visibility weather, according to the report, commissioned by Friends of LaGuardia Airport.

But city officials dismissed the report, noting the system wasn’t feasible at LaGuardia to begin with.

The group, created to oppose the waste transfer station, also claims it will attract birds. That would increase the risk of bird strikes, such as the one that forced US Airways Capt. Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger to make an emergency landing in the Hudson River in 2009.

The organization plans to distribute the report to local elected officials this week.

Was the transfer station approved by any community board?

What happens to the structure that was built? Someone stuffed their pockets with taxpayer money for a now useless building. Is it our useless mayor and his cronies?

Well, considering the issue at hand, I'd say that Bloomturd's administration is for the birds!!!
