Joe the jet-setter

From the Daily News:

If you want to write your Congressman next week and your rep is Joe Crowley, you'll need a lot of stamps: He'll be in Burma and India.

Crowley's jaunt to strife-torn Myanmar on Jan. 12 and 13 will make him the first House member to travel there on official business in more than 12 years, his office said in announcing the trip.

"I am visiting the country to assess the situation on the ground, as well as to encourage the government to continue on the path of reform," he said of the Burma visit. "While the government has taken some steps in the direction of reform, there is more that needs to be done."

Crowley and a delegation led by Virginia Sen. Mark Warner will hit New Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad and Kolkata to discuss trade, defense and cultural ties with the U.S.

I'm sorry, how exactly does going on a trade junket to Burma make Congressman Crowley a jet setter? If you want to attack the man, attack him for living in Virginia, or installing his family and friends in every level of Queens politics, or getting rich off the court system. But going on a congressional trip to india and Burma (not exactly the paradise of asia) is not something that qualifies as "jet-setting."

Joe you should have done as much for your constituents when they came to you about Huang.

You met with Commissioner Lancaster who feed you a line of crap that they were watching the Huangs. You did nothing more.

Hence, the fatality on Queens Blvd.

What a shame.

Get real. Can you be that naive. There is work to be done here in Queens. This is an excuse for a free vacation. Nothing more.

These spineless, egomanic, politicians need to clean up their acts and their own territories.

Forget the Congressional Trips that we are paying for.

Joe, your constituents have for too long been terrorized by the Huangs. Why could you not do something about that? Before you leave perhaps you could find out what if anything is happening with that BIG multi-agency "investigation" into that horrendous collapse on Queens Blvd.
Did you help those poor workers or their families? A life was lost and others were seriously injured.

Tommy was seen running from the site, so I guess he did not retire.

Isn't that what Lancaster stated in her presentation to you. She said Henry and John Huang said that their father was retiring and they were going to become COMPLIANT. Didn't happen? Tommy didn't retire. Shame on you, Sir.

Why did you not do anything more?

You dropped the ball as all you politicians do. You guys are all the same. Padavan, Crowley, Halloran, Avella publicity hounds that do not have the power/b_lls to do the right thing.

Useless. And, we are paying your salaries. Shame on us.

"Burma/Myanmar" is a shithole, and a major human rights violator. I'm frankly surprised anyone would want to travel there.

Joe Crowley ... making the world safer and a better place. Not!

Maybe putting some "foreign policy" experience on his resume for a future position in a Democratic administration? Future ambassador?

Joe should try to make out Sh*Th*le a little safer instead. Focus on the constituency at home - don't look 10,000 miles away to improve lives - we pay him to rep us! He is such a loser and will be so on O's coattails this November!

Wonder if he stopped in Phuket Thailand for some recreation ?

Crowley is visiting the wrong Asian countries. There isn't much $$ to be had in Burma or Myanmar. He should instead go to Taiwan, as had Liu, Ackerman, Weprin and others.

Its fine the the Crapmeister proves a place to gripe.

Its fine that you take advantage.

But the real way to really get something done is to strike at the one thing that makes them vulnerable:

bad publicity

ask him about this publicly, record it, and send it here and out to the web!

And what exactly will this help with back here in NY?

is "Virginia" Joe Crowley hunting up some new money laundry centers (far away from scrutiny) for the Democratic machine...because the old ones in Taiwan have gotten too hot since the John Liu scandal?

Tommy Huang first took Congressman Ackerman on a "fundraiser" to Taiwan many years ago.

Now a new campaign contribution "pipeline" is needed, since the original Taiwanese pipes are being closely watched by federal law enforcement.
