From CBS New York:
Local politicians and community activists have mounted an effort against a proposed strip club in Long Island City.
Protesters rallied Thursday hoping to block a request by the Gypsy Rose on 21st Street for the state to renew its liquor license.
The State Liquor Authority is scheduled to hold a hearing on the license issue next Wednesday. A decision is likely to be made then.
Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer has been a staunch opponent of the adult cabaret. He sent letters to the SLA last year denouncing the club’s application.

A strip club in LIC???? Who would ever think of such a thing?????
No problem having city council move stip clubs before the development - the Walter McCaffry entertainment district we called it - now the developers are here Van Bramer is all over them.
Van Barmer only cares about development.
Lets see him show up where people are being displaced by the developers.
"Van Bramer"
"Van Barmer"
"Van Barfer"?
The strip clubs were all over that area before the complaining losers ... If they dont like it they should just move back to whatever small town they came from and get out of New York! YOU ARE NOT WELCOME HERE
