Great work crappy. Seeing is believing. The street paving company is a private contractor who could give a rats ass about Queens.
Our city government not doing it's job when it comes to protecting it's citizens property and liberty. Contracting out jobs usually done by city residents who have roots in the city is not the answer.

All paving as of late sucks.Seams that do not overlap and crack after 1 year. Sewer and utility covers used to be raised up(with a spacer collar to be even with the new roadbed, not anymore. Is there any quality control, does anyone ever actually check these projects when they're finished?

Where's our councilman "doofy" Dan "hollerin'" Halloran...
busy bending the elbow with his Republican party team members like Peter Koo?

Shouldn't hall of Hell to hear about this shoddy work?

CM Dan was just listed as one of the most powerless politicians in NYC in some recent political census or article.

Until the area is rid of him we shall remain forgotten.

I'm counting the days 'til his term is over.

Does DOT require that contractors use Union workers?

This crap doesn't happen in Manhattan.

DOT milled about 1 inch of old asphalt then put down 3-4 inches of new asphalt, so now when it rains my front sidewalk and property floods especialy since I'm at the bottom of hill on my block and cars park over the, now, minimal curb. Flushing lifetime resident and homeowner.

RE: asphalting and repairing center medians at 42 avenue.F.L.Blvd. to clrvw. expy. was requested two years ago ,by Padavan and Halloran. the D.O.T. will consider doing the work ??? we are still waiting.

photos were shown on Q.C,last month.

stop bashing your enemy political party. the dems. have CONTROL in this city. it is their fault, and yours for voting for these photo op politicians into office.

do some homework before giving us your BASH B/S.

And I haven't seen decent lane lines painted on Queens streets in years! It's disgusting. They're wobbly, distracting AND unsafe.

And in North Flushing they have incorrectly repaved roads at so high a grade that basements have flooded.

These contractors suck.

Wouldn't you think the city would put in proper curbs BEFORE they raise & repave their road beds? Curbs are crumbling all over Queens.

Maybe he needs to be tarred and feathered?

Halloran is still too busy bemoaning the loss of staffer, Megan.

So the cake (street) came out little bumpy.

Just slather a layer of thick icing (asphalt) over it to cover up the mistake.

DOT did the same kind of crappy street work on my block, 165th Street, many years ago!

I had to raise up the cobblestone curb to keep my sidewalk from flooding and freezing up during the winter months.

The situation still isn't completely corrected.

It's not the purpose of NYC to do the job right the first time.

It's to do it and re-do it again and again.

More work for the labor unions who pour plenty of $$$$$ into political campaigns.

Get the complete picture now folks?

And the homeowner gets to pay for all this with his real estate taxes!

Just ask "Judlau"...headquartered in College Point!

my street was repaved here in bellerose, looked nice. then con ed came and dug it right back up, one week after contractors fixed it. then the contractors came back and repaved it again. yay. I guess you can do that when you keep printing money.

You need to redirect your whining. The street is not the problem; it’s the Cobbles Stone curb that needs to go. You should be figuring out how to get real curbs poured. I understand that the cobble stone makes your street look real quaint, but they make for a very poor curb. I guarantee that over the years those Cobble stones have sunk into the dirt a few inches. The dirt they’re in gets flooded and saturated with every rain storm, and forget it if a parking car puts any weight on them, down they go… Just watch your video, The Cobble stone is not only below the asphalt, but it’s also inches below the grass on the side walk side. Do you think they originally installed the cobble stone that far below the grass? No, they sank… You need to redirect your energy into getting a proper curb installed.

when our cobble stoned street was paved , we homeowners made the workers scrape " ALL" of the old asphalt away, then pour the asphalt at the correct depth.

a little attention by concerned citizens made a difference.

the half -assed job done on the 42 ave./F.L.Blvd. to Clrvw Expy. is another story . each intersection is flooded because they would not repair the disintegrated curbs, prior to asphalting.

If my curb were concrete instead of cobblestone--and DOT paved the street above the level of that curb--
the same flooding problem would exist.

Get a handle on your logic friend.

It's a good thing that my curb is cobblestone--so I could personally raise it myself to correct the problem.

FYI:
I requested a concrete curb about 15 years ago.

I'm still waiting!

I'm in the same boat. I started requesting new curbs around 12 years ago. I'm still waiting...

RE:#19....in other words your point is that we elderly taxpayers ,who pay the D.O.T. worker's salary/benefits/
also correct the shoddy work that they perform ?

Maybe a phony elected official should hold a press conference there.
