Will New York City hit the jackpot and be allowed to have casinos with table games to be built?
Electronic gaming in New York State has already been approved and when the Resorts World Casino opened in Jamaica, Queens in October, it was a huge hit.
The word now is Governor Cuomo is reportedly looking to take it a step further by having a traditional casino built in the city.
A legalization of casino gambling in New York would mean black jack tables instead of electronic games.
The state legislature would have to pass two votes for a state constitutional amendment to legalize casino gambling.

Perhaps a good solution for the creative reuse of the RKO Keith's Flushing Theater (years ago) would have been converting it into a posh casino.
The penchant for gambling among Asians would have provided revenue for its restoration...created jobs and put some real money into the local community.
Its superb..."location, location, location"...would have been perfect for such an endeavor.
But today, we have a cheesy bargain basement Flushing that looks like it's ready to be flushed!
LOL. Imagine that the RKO theather does really turned into a casino. Well, I would thinking => If you are Asian and work in flushing and your employees doesn't return in time.. you know where to find them!
This concept is long overdue. New Jersey has benefitted from casinos for years. They should have built them in Rockaways years ago. They built projects instead. Look at upstate New York - the Catskills. Can you imagine the jobs that can be created and revenue earned? Time to build them and reap the profits. Less money for the taxpayers to pay.
Bad idea. The people frequenting Aqueducts "Resorts" racino don't have a pot to piss in but they are pissing away all of their money to the benefit of our corrupt NYS government that wouldn't know how to run a lemonade stand. Crime and poverty will doom those now fragile neighborhoods surrounding these so called casinos.... South Ozone Park now has pawn shops sprouting up along Rockaway Blvd. This will break tht entire section of Queens!
I never understood the reasoning to prevent casinos from coming to NYS or NYC for that matter. What were we protecting the Mob's business from being decimated by casinos moving in - give me a break. For a lifetime we let criminals reap the profits. Then we let Atlantic City have it all and watch lousy smelly buses run around our city to pick up patrons to ferry them there, ditto Connecticut at Foxwoods M-Sun. SO what not here in NYC for God's sakes? Keep the money in the City - a 20% of the take could lower overall taxes. The hospitality industry, entertainment and other industries would be lifted by having Casinos available in the 5 bougouhs !

Reminds me of Back to the Future 2.
Biff's Casino as a ray of light while everything surrounding is a dump.
Times are tough when politicians are pushing for state-owned casinos.
I guess things have to get worse before they get better.
And you thought flushing looked bad before the casino...

There is no place better than having a casino somewhere in NYC. Build them in Rockaway - the Mayor is thinking Willets Point I'll bet!

And education was supposed to benefit from the introduction of the New York State Lottery!
Where?
I'm for casino gambling but only if the mob runs it...LOL...which they will wind up doing anyway.
Anyone else will screw it up.
Yeah, state own casinos..... they will work wonderfully.
Remember OTB??? Leave it to NYS to be the only people in the history of gambling to lose money as a bookie.
Just watch how Donald Trump leads the charge against this. He did when it was proposed for the Catskills.
