A LIRR station? Why do they feel the need to lie to make their story?
This guy has a legitimate gripe, but it should be acknowledged why trucks pick this spot to park; because it is NOT right in front of anyone's house, it is between a park and a LIRR storage yard and truck repair shop. These truckers are trying to park where they wont bother anybody, which is why they pick spots like this.
I would think that these big illegal trucks that park under overpasses would pose a threat to our city. Suppose terrorist load one of these trucks with explosives, park it under the LIE overpass and detonate it the next day? Chuck Schumer, Homeland Security...are you paying attention?
This story was done by WPIX because of the earlier posting here at Queens Crap. http://queenscrap.blogspot.com/2011/09/nypd-turns-blind-eye-to-illegal-truck.html The problem was: there were no trucks parked at that location on the day the story was shot. Hence, the one further down Atlantic Avenue was used (where they ALWAYS are). And, while houses are not visible in the video, they do are on three sides of that park.
It's also a shame that Ms. Morales did not emphasize the police dept. turning a blind eye to all, of the illegal truck parking that is on Atlantic from Rockaway Blvd. to the Van Wyck.
I feel your pain listening to those stupid compressors running on the trucks. Trucks are left running on my block too. I don't understand why trucks have free reign in Queens but drivers get tickets left and right. Send the traffic agents to ticket the trucks instead of cars, its not a difficult concept.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods. Why wait a day?
Also, under the LIE overpasses is not legal parking for any vehicles as far as I know.
