Hoarding garbage in his house

From WPIX:

The house at 196 13th street in posh Park Slope is so disgusting, so smelly, and so unsanitary that neighbors want to move. The brownstone, between 3rd and 4th avenue, is covered in trash, buckets of refuse, and cats.

Neighbors say the owner is a hoarder and has received several summonses from the City but continues to collect garbage anyway.

After PIX11 News sent the Department of Sanitation pictures of the home, they issued him a "Dirty Area Summons" for a hundred dollars. Sanitation also promised to continue to monitor the situation.

Shouldn't the Dept of Health be involved at this point?

Should the courts, Adult Protective Services, etc., be involved at this point?

I know people like that but they keep everything inside, this guy is the worst, can't imagine the smell during this hot humid summer.

He probably has to climb out of his window to get out of his house.

I wonder how the mailman delivers his mail, lol.

Boy, looks like a fire hazard-- like it would easily go up in flames...Once that occured, the place would have to be cleared. Ironic that that would solve the problem, right?

That's bullshit...neighbors have to just start throwing all that crap out.

Yes, that's exactely what I mean...

Open the guy's front gate and start hauling that crap to the curb on garbage collection day.

This guy is literally turning the block into a garbage dump....

I'm absoluetly shocked that Brooklynites, of all people, allow this to happen.

You can't just sit there are wait for the city to do something about it.

Sure you can. The people on the block should go to the community board, go to their elected officials privately and publically - with their cell phones - and demand something be done about this.

Have the phones record the empty promises and post it far and wide - even here at Crappy.

Do it again. Any yet again. And even your office holder, as dim as most of those sheep are, will eventually get the point that they are being laughed at.

The problem will be taken care of promptly I assure you.

The department of " one round to the back of the head" should be involved at some point.

Seriously, why cant we establish some minimum requirements for being allowed to live as a part of society?

Defective people should be handled as such.

I agree that the Neighbors should haul the stuff to the curb on trash day, preferably as the truck is coming down the block.
