I don't see hoe anyone was "helped" by this... that being said, hammer these guys over, and over, and over again: among other things, lack of a noise mitigation plan (a current requirement, even if work is taking place during the day!)should be pursued.
Help me Howard wasn't able to be very helpful here, but he did try a HELL OF ALOT MORE than the city and our elected officials have done against these developers.
I feel sorry for those people, knowing that the city will let this all occur with no problem. But the fact is that this has been going on in Queens for years, and mabye if people in Manhattan start to complain about it the city may start taking action, but I will not hold my breath on that one.
The illegal hours work, bad permits, etc is an issue. But i can't have sympathy for the tenants of the units who's windows will be blocked off, as their units shouldn't have had zero lot line windows in the first place.
Except that their building were constructed well before that regulation went into place, so they were grandfathered in, and yes, you should have sympathy for them, asshole.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
The above organizations are recognized by Queens Crap as being beneficial to the city as a whole, by fighting to preserve the history and character of our neighborhoods. They are not connected to this website and the opinions presented here do not necessarily represent the positions of these organizations.

Tommy Huang and his spawn are living proof of that!
And Congressman Gary Ackerman has always been there to bail out his favorite Taiwanese contributor from any scrapes with the law.
This Gary & Tommy show has been running for decades!
It's well known that Huang took Ackerman to Taiwan for a fundraiser and that's illegal!
What does the Congressional Ethics Committee do about a perennial sleaze bag like Gary?
As little as possible!
Could it be that the ethics committee, itself, has no ethics ?
It certainly looks that way!
