SWO infraction documented; records backdated to allow more work

So after getting a violation yesterday (apparently entered today) for not observing the SWOs at the St. Saviour's site, the DOB backdated an inspection report 7/1/11 to allow the partial rescind of one of the SWOs today so that foundations may be poured.

The rule seems to be that you can have multiple stop work orders for ignoring safety codes and problems with your paperwork and the DOB will give you just enough leeway to allow you to continue to build with no cures necessary. What exactly is the purpose of this agency?

Inadequate construction fence, unsafe excavation, undermined sidewalk, etc., etc.? No problem! Keep building! Simply amazing...

Looks like it's well past time to call DOI.

So the guy that visited the site yesterday didn't know another inspector had visited the site on the 1st and partially lifted the SWO? What does that say about the DOB's internal communications?

The DOI is corrupt.
They are in collusion with
the DOB. BELIEVE IT!
Why do you think this happens
time and time again?
They play us all for fools.

Wow, and I thought the tale of Dutch Kills was a story that good mothers tell their children to scare them into eating all their peas, but this one takes the cake.

Maybe they are building a 30 million dollar library facility here - well maybe on 15,000 sq ft section of the property - the rest can be a hotel.

That is an idea - rezone it for an R8 so that they can get generous funding from the pols to attract tenants - say $15,000 to put together an infomerical?

A few bike lanes so the hipsters can get to work, and of course, ferry boat to Maspeth Landing at the head of Newtown Creek - just a hop skip and jump away.

What law? This is a lawless society where laws do not appy to the uber-rich.

Time to make an appointment with the FBI's anti corruption unit at Manhattan Federal Plaza.

We did, and stopped a crooked developer in his tracks and put a few DOB inspectors and 2 pols in jail!

Everything else is just masturbation.
