Important hearing about the future of Queens

You know this traffic video that's been displayed here for the past year? Well, Wednesday's the day when members of the public can show up and tell EDC and the roadway regulatory agencies what we think of their plan to construct ramps to enable a development that will draw at least 80,000 new vehicle trips per day to the vicinity of Willets Point -- having such far-reaching effects as to jeopardize travel through the Long Island Expressway / Grand Central Parkway / Kew Gardens interchanges, the latter of which we are presently spending $148,000,000.00 to improve.

Either voice your opinion at this hearing, or don't complain later if they build these ramps to enable development and your quality of life in Queens suffers as a result.

Date/Time: Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at 4:30PM; news conference outside at 4:00PM
Location: Flushing Library, Kissena Blvd and Main Street
More information here.

We know from past experience that, unfortunately, the only voices that matter are those of Apelian and Kelty.

You get us. You really really get us! Now down to business. We just got new pairs of pants and the pockets need lining. Get it?

We have to attack EDC across the city, not just at Willets Point.

The politicians look idly by while they beat us up, the community boards are a joke, and the civics not better.

Only a handful of areas in the city are organized to beat them.

Unless people from around the city get together to take our city back from the developers and the handmaidens, like EDC, and the bumpkins that keep the seats warm in office, you are just wasting your time people.

Just wasting your time.

What is QCC doing about this.

Oh sorry, doesn't involve gardening issues in eastern Queens so it doesn't matter.

Did someone say wood?

No one will show up to the hearings because this is already a done deal. Showing up would just be a waste of time.

you're held to this statement when no one but crazy Joe and the sawdust man show up.

Nice going, EDC! schedule the meeting on the Jewish holiday of Shavuoth, when observant Jews from Kew Garden Hills, Forest Hills, and other areas, cannot attend.

Will "granny" Shulman be there?

Did she pay her fines for breaking the law by not registering as a lobbyist yet?

A question:

What stinks worse the Flushing Creek or creaky 'ol "granny" Shulman?

Answer:

It's a tie/win between
Claire Shillman and Tubby Stashitsky!
